Great atmosphere, great margs. The tofu and soy based tacos in the “Plant” section of the menu are good but nothing to write home about. I absentmindedly ordered both options assuming everything in the “plant” section was plant based and didn’t realize they contained dairy and egg (cheese and aioli). They didn’t have great subs for these items. The bartender was very gracious in resolving the mistake. Also they no longer carry a jackfruit or mushroom option. Not a “go-to” for vegan food but you can get by with decent food and bangin margs!

That is really disappointing that they dropped their best taco, The Dutch Dragon. And that they name a taco “Power Plant” but it has cheese on it.

Chain Restaurant Tacos - Edit
Newer to Grand Rapids, with now two locations, is Condado Tacos. It is a chain restaurant, but it still feels like a local spot.
Read moreThe restaurant wall is painted up to reflect the city of Grand Rapids through a graffiti lens. The staff is always friendly, and they offer biodegradable cactus straws - made from the excess of tequila distilling.
These tacos are the best taco I have had at a chain restaurant. The Dutch Dragon is where it is at. The marinated mushrooms, pickled jalapenos, and double shells of this taco is really one of the best. It might be sacrilegious for me to say this, so go ahead and call me a blasphemer.
Check it out if you haven’t been to a Condado before.

Condado Tacos makes it so easy to mix and match many different combinations of flavors... tacos, bowls, etc. You can get BBQ jackfruit tacos, spiced tofu tacos, veggie chorizo and more. Their Guacamole and slaws are all clearly marked for vegan options so you don't need to worry about what is clean or not. Great atmosphere and flavor!
