Simple place offering food and smoothies, though limited vegan choices. A block and a half away from the Church, on Paseo de los Estudiantes, left side as you're walking away from the main street. Near UCR. NOTE: please confirm if this restaurant is still fully vegetarian. Reported closed Mar 2019.

needs some love and care

This is one of the first vegetarian restaurants in Costa Rica. I frequented for several years because it had big portions and delicious typical Costa Rican food. However, since the last few years the quality of the food has declined, and the menu and the restaurant are in need of a makeover (same look and same menu as 15 years ago). They seem not to be aware of the fact that there are at least 5 other vegetarian restaurants just blocks away offering more creative dishes and more options for vegans. The restaurant also seems to have lost a bit its commitment to selling only healthy vegetarian food and it is offering now at the entrance supermarket chocolates, etc. On the positive side, it is an alternative for a ovo-lacto /lacto vegetarians, and there are some vegan options in the menu. Desserts contain eggs and milk. Beware also the waiters do not understand the concept of "vegetarian cheese" (in general this is the case with cheese in Costa Rica) so not sure if the cheese contains animal rennet or not.

Pros: Well-located and clean, Affordable, vegan options

Cons: Old menu, Quality of the food is not what it used to be, Cheese might not be vegetarian, ask first

Really good with student promotions available.

The food is really good. There are several vegan options. the "Casado vegetariano" is a really delicious, vegan, complete meal, for just $4.

You get a pretty decent food quality for what you pay for.

nice place to meet up with others

i like that comida para sentir is conveniently located near ucr and that the atmosphere is rather mellow. i have only eaten one dish i wasn't all that impressed with, but there smoothies are nice and simple i suppose. what i like most about this place is the lovely women, who seems to run the place. i just wish they had longer hours and more vegan options.

Pros: price, location, friendly staff

Cons: hours

OK!

This restaurant needs a pep pill. Decor and ambiente is unexciting. The food is good but not WOW!

Pros: good food, clean, good value

Cons: needs a face-lift

Nice food

Nice place but has limited vegan options, easy accesibility by bus or train.

Pros: Nice place

Cons: Greasy food, Not too many vegan options
