Horrible service always, decent food

Title says it all. It's too bad they're closed but I don't think the owner cars about the customer or employees. As much as I feel horrible for the solo server handling everything, spending 2 hours at a restaurant is just not cool.

It sucks they closed but that's what happens when you show you don't give a crap about your customer experience.

Ordered takeout this time, solid not their best

Solid vegan food. We have been here a few times. Best fully vegan restaurant in the area. Last time we ordered, quality was lower than the previous time, but still great!

Recommend calling ahead to ensure they are open.

Delicious!

Go here if only for the milkshake alone! I was lucky enough to be there when they had pumpkin pie so they made me a pumpkin pie shake. The wait staff was very friendly and had excellent recommendations. Will definitely return!

Wonderful surprise

On my trip north into NH I didnt have high hopes of finding many delicious vegan foods, but I was pleasantly surprised to see Col's is fully plant-based. And I truly wish I could have orders one of everything.

Pros: Everything is vegan, There is a piano in the restaurant , Food was delicious

Good food, service not great

We stopped in on a Sunday evening for dinner. Interesting all-vegan menu, but 2 of their regular items were not available and our server didn’t tell us until we tried to order them. We didn’t know that there were specials available until I got up to go to the bathroom and saw them written on a chalkboard. When I inquired about the appetizer we ordered, 20 minutes after ordering, she seemed very annoyed and just said “they’re coming”. Not sure if they were understaffed or what was going on. Food was good - the BLT was very tasty and 2 of our group had the ricotta ravioli and really liked it. But we didn’t feel particularly welcome.

Pros: All vegan menu, Cute little restaurant , Milkshakes available

Cons: Slow service , Unfriendly server

Depends on what you get

We love Col's simply because it is an all vegan menu. Five stars for the brussel sprout and cauliflower appetizers. The entrees, it depended. The pad thai was oily and mostly noodles, no fresh ingredients like sprouts or peanuts. The falafel burger was great. I say come here a few times and find you favorite dishes!

Decent but missing something

Just needed a quick lunch passing through Concord, I got the fake tuna sandwich and thought it was okay but maybe missing something to make it really good. My boyfriend got one of the seitan wraps and wasn’t into it at all - it was quite rich and could’ve had more fresh vegetables in it. The cafe seemed quite understaffed so might have just been an off day!

Concord’s best vegan food

My family and I love Col’s Kitchen. They offer an amazing 100% vegan menu. My go to is the “steak n cheese”. Another great thing about this restaurant is that they offer outside seating in the summertime. P.S. when eating at Col’s be sure to order a pie shake, its’s exactly what it sounds like.

Pros: 100% vegan, Located in downtown Concord, NH, Pie + shake = pieshake

One star if I could rate it that way

This place is highly rated so I not sure if we just caught them on an off day. Either way I won't be back to find out.

Ordered the gf French toast and gf loaded home fries.

The loaded home fries were good but I think they were ready a good five minutes before they brought them out. None of it was hot, some of it was warm and several pieces were ice cold.

The French toast came with no maple syrup and when I asked about it he said it would be a good five minutes. I guess they ran out, but no one said anything to me beforehand. The maple syrup never did manifest after a good ten minutes. It also wasn't very hot. More warm. Not crispy anywhere either.

My husband ordered the big kid seitan wrap. The seitan was bland and was wet, as in it hadn't been fried at all. The whole thing was lacking in flavour and was overpowered by the few pieces of broccoli in it. He didn't seem to notice the cheesey sauce in there either.

No discount was offered even though they acknowledged that it sucked they were out of maple syrup.

Hugely disappointed in this place. Lack of communication, no customer service or offer to make it right (different dish, free strawberry and cream upgrade in lieu of maple syrup or a discount).

I love honest reviews like this one. Hopefully, it will inspire this establishment to DO BETTER. If not, consumers vote with their wallet.

I agree with this review but am not submitting a review because I still hope they get better and because they are all vegan. There is something so oily about many of their foods and they are not good or cooked well. For a pro they have some nice desserts(from another company) and do make fabulous soda.

We wouldn't be doing anyone any favors - least of all other vegans - by sweeping issues such as these, under the rug. Giving an establishment a pass simply because a business is all Vegan helps no one. Again, I thank GFGoldenLady for her honesty and integrity.

I just won't be back because it wasn't good. Vegan or not, I'm paying for a meal so in my mind it has to be worth the cost. Mediocrity is not my thing.

So delicious!

Visiting my grandparents in Concord and they took us to this place. Great menu and bakery counter. I had the Mac and cheese which was one of the best I’ve had and the lemon square for dessert. Definitely worth a visit!

Worth a trip to Concord

A steaming cup of chili on a rainy day! Gluten free options for almost everything in the menu. Delicious sandwiches--falafel and chickpea salad.

Every single thing on the menu was good. Complex flavors and interesting combos. The Caesar salad was an inspiration. Plus then have a mountain of dessert options. And the staff are very friendly

amazing food and people

my partner ordered a seitan wrap and I ordered a bunch of starters (brussels, summer rolls, hummus plate). Totally aware of gf alternatives/options. Didn’t even have to ask and the hummus plate was made gf for me. Super friendly and seriously delicious. Was such a happy stop on our trip and set the mood for a great weekend.

I wish there was more fully vegan restaurants around.

I had the seitan nuggies and the falafel burger. The nuggies and maple sauce were perfect. The falafel burger was cooked well too.

Cute and delicious

So tasty! Atmosphere is very cozy and the people working here are super warm and friendly. All of the food me and my partner got was incredible. Sandwiches are big and very filling, extremely flavorful. The Cesar salad was out of this world (I am biased as it’s not easy to find a vegan Cesar). One of my favorite things here are their sodas. I don’t know how they make them but they’re not super sweet and they’re very refreshing. Tons of vegan desserts here, as well. Can’t wait to go back!

Pros: All options are vegan! , Warm atmosphere with kind employees , Filling and savory food

friendly fare

With its open floor plan and spacious rows of tables, Col’s Kitchen reminded me of a dining hall one might come across in some quaint Portuguese fishing village. My wife and I ordered the Hungarian Mushroom Soup special, the Feelin’ Good Falafel Burger, and a plate of nachos to split (as is typical, I ended up eating most of them).

The first to arrive, the soup knocked our socks off--it boasted a generous portion of mushrooms whose flavor was enhanced by the unique melange of spices characterizing the creamy broth. Although flavorful, our first several spoonfuls alternated between hot and cold, indicative of a microwave reheat (nothing a quick stir couldn’t fix).

The nachos were ok—the cashew cheese was tasty; however, the salsa and guacamole seemed a bit bland. I appreciated the generous amount of jalapeño peppers dotting the undulating, crisp tortilla landscape.

The house-made falafel burgers were tasty and filling, served with slices of tomato, pickle, and onion under a bulky brioche bun. I would return to try other items on Col’s plant-based menu.

Pros: atmosphere, soup special

Cons: bland nacho salsa & guac, microwave reheat

Col’s Kitchen a plant based gem in NH

Cal’s kitchen being fully plant based reminded me of what it was like to order off a menu without having to alter my choice. There were many options from apps to desserts. Atmosphere is quaint nothing fancy with a homey feel. I would definitely bring non-vegans here and they would be happy. Our next visit will be to try Col’s Sunday brunch.

Pros: Full plant based, Excellent service, Relaxed atmosphere

Vegan Menu!

Food is delicious! I had the Mediterranean Veg ravioli with spinach side salad- yum! My husband enjoyed the maple sesame stir-fry. Wish we lived closer - I would order out all the time!

Pros: Entire menu - including desserts - is vegan!, Reasonably priced

Cons: Be prepared to wait. (It’s worth it though!)

Beyond Delicious!

My husband and I love this little place!! We’ve been for both lunch and dinner and each time has been amazing. I’m vegan and I’m husband is vegetarian and gluten-free. I always get the Chickpea Tuna Sandwich - it’s the BEST I’ve ever had and I’ve had many versions! My husband loves the Tofu Maple Sesame Stir Fry. We both adore the Homemade Lime and Kiwi Soda. We only wish they had a couple more gluten-free options. Highly recommended and we can’t wait to go again to try their plant-based milkshakes!

Pros: Tons of delicious vegan options, Friendly staff, Relaxing environment

Cons: A little dark inside, Entry door isn’t too obvious.

Fully vegan place in Concord NH

Col’s is an awesome, fully plant-based restaurant in Concord, NH. I try to get food from here at least once a month, so I’ve tried many of their dishes. There are so many good options there. The Pad Thai, falafel wrap, and falafel burger are my favorites. I also really enjoyed the nachos and seitan nuggies.
