Amazing place and amazing arepa - Edit
"Romance Cafe" was one of the most pleasant surprises we had in Ecuador. Along with the amazing vegetarian arepa and the perfect hot chocolate (the best we had in South America), we enjoyed so much the hospitality of the lovely Venezuelan couple thay run this place. Limited food options, just empanadas and arepas. The arepas are all $6 which is a little expensive as they are a little small. But so delicious!! The owner speaks English and understands vegetarian/vegan. Would recommend!

Best vegan arepa! - Edit
The host was incredibly nice and the vegan arepa was delicious. There are lots of books on Ecuador to enjoy while soaking in the cute atmosphere and waiting for your freshly made meal. I also had the lemonade which was nice and tart.

Had a vegan arepa and lemonade. The arepa was delicious, and freshly made to order. Staff were very kind and were happy to help me practice my spanish! The ambiance of the restaurant is also very cozy and welcoming.

They made vegan arepas ($4 each) for us which contained a mixture of fried vegetables. It was filled to the brim and delicious, so it’s good value for the money. Their juice is good as well. If you talk to them a day in advance they are able to make more vegan dishes.
