The vegan curry was awesome

My favorite curry in the world is from coco Ichibanya. Choose the curry that labels no animal products . Try spicy level 1 if you are new to spice. You can’t taste much spicy when you try level 1. Level 2 is perfect for me not so spicy or too sweet. My dad tried level 3 and he thinks it is perfect for him, jut a few drops of tears. My dad tried level 7 and it was so spicy for him. You can only go to level 5 if you are fine with level 4. I don’t recommend you to try level 20 lol. They have spoons for souvenir too!

Pros: I can customize the spicy level, The curry is the best, The portion is enough in the restaurant

Cons: The takeout portion is less for the same price

Yummy

Always happy to dine at coco ichiban where I can select my own veggie and rice portion and curry is vegetarian. Location is very convenient with Uniqlo just across the road and famous shopping street nearby.

Reliable and delicious, a vegan traveler's friend

This restaurant is a chain, so it is the same everywhere in Japan. But that's what makes it so reliable and convenient. Even in small towns where there are no vegan restaurants, you can often count on this restaurant to be nearby. Their vegan menu is available at all branches and their food is tasty and not too expensive. It's often one of the only things open at night for vegans in the countryside.

I visited this particular branch in Otaru at night (take-out) and ate my curry in my hotel alongside some yummy side-dishes that I found at a vegan-friendly deli shop about 20 minutes away (I would have bought more at that shop, but they were sold out of almost everything when I got there).

Luckily, Cocoichi is always there to save the day. When we don't have any other options, they always have our backs.

Cons: not a fully vegan shop, obviously
