if you order the vegetable curry, they use the base curry with meat and add vegetables! go for the plain vegetarian curry then go and add whatever toppings you want here

My boyfriend is vegan and I'm really fussy with meat. We ate here and there were so many options for both of us! He had the Vegan Vegetable Curry and highly recommends! I had the Croquettes (does contain crab) and they were yum too!

Vegan Curry is not available at every CoCo Curry branch. Order only from a green menu which says „vegetarian curry“, otherwise it will contain pork. I am not Japanese, but to me this was a really good curry for a low price (like 700 yen).

Amazing curry and great staff - Edit
We were greeted and seated promptly upon arrival, and shown how the menu works. We advised we were vegetarian, which was understood. We did not have to ask for separate menus, as they were on the table clearly visible. The curry itself was fantastic. I ordered the eggplant with fresh tomato, and my fiancee ordered the mushroom option. Both arrived promptly, and we were very impressed indeed. I would recommend a visit if you're in the area. Reasonably priced, too.

Decent Vege curry, menu in English and various other languages. By choice I primarily mean you can add salads, toppings and choose the amount of rice and spicyness of your curry. If you don't like Japanese style curry, there is not much else on offer. There is a special allergen-free option as well for gluten-free. Reasonable price beer. Food is not mind blowing but its hard to too harsh given the location and the amount of work done being clear about the menu items. If you are in the area for a while you probably won't be fine dining all the time and this is a good staple. Brown rice would be a nice option but not available.

It is a quick fast food place but I am very grateful it exists. I also went to this chain in Kyoto after walking by one and immediately was glad to see another one in Osaka, very conveniently located. There are several vegan curry options. I have just tried the eggplant and vegetable one but it is very tasty. You can also adjust the spiciness level to your preference (2 was good for me, but I like only a moderate level of spice.) Service was quick and easy and the English menu easy to understand as I don't speak any Japanese.

Vegan options available (March 2019) - Edit
I've been here in march of 2019. The green/vegan menue was available. The menue contains 7 options of japanese curry. The spice level (sweet, mild or spicy on a scale from 1-10) and the size (up to 500 grams) of the dishes can be chosen. Be very careful with the spice levels, because Level 1-3 might already be too hot for some people. The food is very tasty.

Vegan Japanese curry - awesome! - Edit
This branch of this chain has the vegetarian menu. All items are vegan on this menu unless you add cheese or honey etc.
Read moreVery tasty and so helpful given how hard it can be to find veg options in Japan. Also my husband is a meat eater and wont eat vegan / veg all the time.
You can make your curry more or less spicy, have leas rice, add extra veg, add more sauce. Can also make more mild but the mild levels in the separate super mild menu contain honey.
You must order from the green vegetarian menu. Vegetable curries on the main menu are NOT vegetarian.
