Favourite breakfast spot (but offers honey)

I stayed in Vientiane for a few nights and booked a hostel down the street so I could go for breakfast here every day. It’s the only vegan/vegetarian place which is open from early morning every day and offers western-style breakfast. Compared to other places it’s a bit pricey (one dish easily >100k, but worth paying the higher price. The only downside is that honey is on the menu, it can be added to coffees. They assured me it’s only added when people ask for it, but it’s disappointing for a place that calls themselves 100% vegan. BUT in Laos this is not uncommon, I asked HC to update the listing but still 5 stars.

I tried both the cappuccino (hot) and iced latte. Both were good but their hot coffees are tiny (they are also cheaper) and the ice coffee is bigger and delicious too. Coffee is served from the cafe next door, with oat milk as a default.

The food is good quality, but the portion size is a bit hit or miss. The fist morning I wanted to treat myself a chia pudding, but was sad to find that for about 100k it was a tiny glass of pudding with some fruits. While delicious it was not worth the price because I was still hungry after eating it.
Then I decided to switch to my main breakfast: toast for the next two days. The tofu scramble is really good and filling, but you only get very small toast served with it, it’s not scramble on toast. It was delicious and filling.

The cream cheese and hummus toast got served with a salad on the side, but the two toast themselves I struggled to finish because they were SO heavy, I think the gluten free bread makes it taste very heavy. It’s delicious nonetheless, especially the cream cheese. Hummus is ok, somehow the dont serve either hummus or cream cheese but only both. Cream cheese was outstanding but contains some garlic. (Nice but be prepared)

The restaurant is very nice, it’s clean, comfortable, has friendly staff who speak good English and their bathroom is also clean. Must visit when in Vientiane.

A Standout Vegan Café in Vientiane’s Most Competitive Area

This café is located in one of Vientiane’s most competitive café areas, and within that environment it truly stands out as a dedicated vegan café.

I ordered two cakes, and both were excellent. I especially loved the vegan lemon cake so much that I ended up ordering the same one again. That alone says a lot.

The lemon cake had a gentle acidity and smooth texture, similar to yogurt, but without any dairy-like smell at all. It felt very clean and light. I am not completely sure, but it seems likely that it is not soy-milk-based, which I personally appreciated.

The chocolate cake was also well done, topped with coconut flakes in a very Southeast Asian style. It was smooth, balanced, and not overly heavy.

Another big plus is that both cakes were gluten-free, which makes this café even more valuable for health-conscious visitors.

It may be difficult to be completely free of refined white sugar, but if that were ever achieved, these cakes would honestly be close to perfect.

What I respect most is that this café has survived as a vegan café for over 10 years in such a competitive area. That alone deserves admiration.

Watching the staff work was also impressive. They were fully focused, efficiently washing dishes and preparing ingredients with blenders at high speed, without any wasted movement. It reminded me of the seriousness and diligence often associated with Japanese work culture — and it made a strong, positive impression.

Great vegan pies, plus bamboo toothbrushes

It’s really hard to find vegan sweets - and especially vegan pies , when traveling in SE Asia. Check out the photo below. Berry pie, chocolate pie, apple pie, a coconut based tiramisu and more

They confirmed they do not use honey in their sweets. They only sell it by the bottle.

On the point about bamboo tooth brushes, if you are traveling for a long time and care about only using bamboo tooth brushes that you brought from home, this is the place to restock. Only 35,000 Kip for the larger brushes and 25,000 for the smaller. Super inexpensive, makes sense to buy here and take some with you compared to prices you will pay for bamboo brushes back home.

Delicious healthy food

This place has delicious healthy food. Portions are not too big and a bit on the pricier side for Laos (most things are around USD 4 or 5 so still not too crazy expensive). Everything is absolutely delicious. Lots of variety of sweet and savory food.

Vegan cakes!!! 😍

I have been dreaming of having vegan cake for 3 months in Asia already. It was so so great! Price was quite high for Laos and also the portion was super small, but worth it. My boyfriend had pancakes and they were super nice too!

Good but a little bit expensive

Very good food but small portions and a little bit too expensive. Service was very friendly. But i think 5% service charge is not ok, because you need to order at the counter and the server only bring you the food

Best breakfast in Vientiane

Entire food menu is vegan with a lot of gluten free options.
The coffee comes from the coffee roastery cafe next door. They also sell cow milk and non vegan pastries so make sure you confirm that your coffee comes with oatmilk.
I had the vegan banana pancakes. They come with a lot if fresh fruits. The smoothie bowls are also awesome!

Pros: Lecker, Nettes Personal

Cons: Sehr teuer , Kleine Portionen , Kuhmilch

Delivery 6/10

Small portions and high prices, burger was very very small but good. The juice was fresh. Everything was okay but there are places with half price really, maybe it’s a fancy place who knows, never been there irl
Pad Thai was also good and hummus bowl!
Scrumble has a lot of onions so I’ll give it someone else to eat
Overall I’ll give it 6/10, bowls are good but burger maybe not their strongest point

Lovely staff, great, fresh food

Delicious bowls and the best coffee we’ve had in Laos. Highly recommend the iced mocha with oat milk. Wasn’t a fan of the homemade bread… had a weird flavour. But everything else was great and the staff are lovely.

Pros: Best coffee
