Better than no food - Edit
I'll only come back to get more food before I leave town, but the deli only had one vegan food option, and it was okay.
Read moreI'm guessing the amount of vegan options may depend on day and time, but there was not much in the deli at 6:50pm on a Tuesday.
Pros: It's attached to a grocery store with vegan stuff
Cons: Not many options, Sammie was soggy

Vegan stuff in Fairbanks - Edit
To be able to find a vegan cookie in Fairbanks is difficult, so this place is an oasis! I got a vegan breakfast burrito and a cup of tea with coconut milk. The burrito was very nice with many different ingredients. And the staff is so great! As a vegan in Fairbanks you just need to love this place! :)

Not sure when they operate - Edit
The hours of operation for the “deli” aren’t the same as the store. We came in around 6:45 pm and there was no soup or anything. Just cold sandwiches in the refrigerated section. There were some baked goods but nothing was labeled with ingredients. Needless to say we didn’t leave with any ready to eat food. Fortunately, the store itself is brimming with great products so we just ended up buying microwaveable stuff and taking it back to our hotel room. But we were a bit disappointed in the deli.

a coop market in fairbanks = breath of fresh air! - Edit
for real, there isn't even a coop in anchorage! sheesh.
Read morethis market is a gem for the good folks who prefer to purchase organic, natural, ethical, fresh, etc.
I simply wish they had more interesting + creative vegan prepared food options + baked goods!
(kindly screw the hummus or quinoa wrap or whatnot I believe I've spied....)
Pros: location, coop values!, fairtrade !
Cons: not much in vegan prepared options, gotta remember to bring a box or totes (aka a PRO), prices are not low, understandably

Not much happening at the deli - Edit
I went in shortly after opening to get some breakfast, but they told me my only vegan option would be to wait for a (not breakfast) burrito. I wanted a coffee while I waited, but they don't do espresso, just a big gas station style pot. I decided to skip it. The food may be great, but I didn't stick around to find out. The attached supermarket was awesome though!

Cons: Not much happening

This Place is Awesome! - Edit
They just opened in March of this year (2013) and they're doing a wonderful job! Everyday there is at least one vegan sandwich option in the deli and there is usually a few vegan soups in the cooler plus one hot soup which is usually vegan. Tons of vegan options in the grocery part and they have been great about getting new options when I filled out a comment card. You can shop there whether you are a member or not. Prices are comparable to Fred Meyer with some being more expensive and some less so it usually evens out. Lots of fresh produce and local as much as possible.

Cons: They do sell meat.
