Friendly place full of veg-options

The restaurant has all the dishes separated into three categories: pescatarian, vegetarian and vegan, all labeled very clearly and all with similar amount of dishes offered. All food is advertised as "natural". It was very good! The waitresses helped us in English, were very nice and friendly. The food was very good, didn't fall behind Bologna's fully vegan restaurants.

Pros: tasty food, variety of choises, lot of choices for organic alcohols

Cons: not everything from the menu was available

Buono per una pausa pranzo

Ottima varietà di antipasti, primi, secondi e dolci vegani. Il cibo eccellente, unica pecca forse solo le porzioni leggermente scarse per il prezzo

Pros: Molte opzioni vegane diverse

Cons: Un po’ costoso per la grandezza delle porzioni

Serves fish, vegetarian and vegan options

I had the vegan tofu and vegetable dish and the vegan chocolate pudding which were both really nice. My friend had the vegetarian mushroom risotto and the carrot cake which were very good too. Not really sure why it has got bad reviews before!

Recommendation for traditional local food with vegan style

A overall really nice restaurant for vegan/vegetarian people. The seasoning was especially good. I would definitely recommend to go the once and make up your mind.

We weren't impressed

The food: we just weren't impressed. My companion had the lasagne and rated it just OK and didn't finish it. I had the spaghetti with tempeh, and the spaghetti was unremarkable and the tempeh unmarinated and largely flavorless.

The menu: Only things explicitly marked as vegan are vegetarian/vegan. I initially ordered something without cheese listed in its description that came covered in it. There was Parmesan. Parmesan is of course from nearby Parma, and as I understand it must be made with veal rennet to have the denomination. No matter where you are on the globe, it's never veg.

So, I wound up with a dish that claimed to be but wasn't veg, and there was a bit of a kerfuffle before I re-ordered that tempeh. I accept responsibility for not double-checking when I ordered, but I expect more from a place that is named Clorofila and trumpets how pure, bio, locally selected the ingredients are and how deeply they care about vegetarianism.

Great Food

Lots of vegan options.
I loved my meal.
They had a fire right in front of the restaurant the day before, but the place was sparkly clean and you didn't realize anything was wrong. Staff was really nice.
Worth a visit😄

Pros: Many vegan options

Nice food

I had the pasta alla norma (without cheese on top), it was tasty but not fantastic. There are a few vegan choices on the menu clearly marked.

Pleasant, Organic No-frills Restaurant

The food was all fresh and pleasant enough but not 'Wow!' worthy, although this may have been due to our menu choices. Good selection of smoothies, we had Carrot, Apple & Ginger and my son enjoyed his organic cola.
I had a green salad with sliced apple, grated carrot, nutritional yeast & balsamic vinegar, which was as exciting as it sounds.... My son was not too impressed with his couscous dish, mainly for aesthetics - the seitan and tofu (not sure why they were both included) did look a bit grim and the whole dish looked a bit '1970's' although I thought it tasted pretty good. The 2 non-vegan salads my family had were again fresh, but plain to look at. The Special going to other tables looked better though - a bit like a Buddha bowl but on a flat plate (again presentation lacked a bit, but maybe I shouldn't place such importance on the 'look' of a dish - I think I have been spoiled with the new Plant-Based restaurants and their beautiful-to-look-at and eat fayre)
This is a decent enough restaurant, good fresh food, okay for everyday dining, but a little 'plain' as a restaurant to hunt down on a trip to Bologna. 3 and a half stars, I think.

Pros: Fresh food at reasonable price, Good choice of fruit smoothies, Nice staff

Cons: Food presentation needs pepping up a bit

great :)

Absolutely loved this place:) first real vegan food since arriving in Venice a few days before. I got a seitan dish with salad and my boyfriend got a tasting dish with a little of everything. All tasted delicious and a real effort went into everything, Waitress helped us out with the vegan friendly dishes and was very friendly and helpful.

Pros: good value , Central , great food

Cons: none

Nice atmosphere

It’s a little restaurant in front of the School of political sciences of the university. It’s a lovely and warm place, the service is attentive but a little slow, not 100% veg (dairy/eggs and fish dishes).
I tried a wonderful “piatto unico” (a selection of spiced rice, lentils, raw and cooked vegetables, seitan goulash) and a delicious vegan quinoa chocolate cake.

I Love, Love, Love This Place!

Review: I love this place so much I would consider moving to Bologna just to eat here all the time. As soon as you open the door and smell the food being served, you know you're in the right place.

Tonight I had a special; curry seitan with rice, steamed carrots, spiced potatoes, and a pureed mix of tomatoes, potatoes, and spices which were baked into a wonderful part of the dish (forget the name in Italian). My wife had a wonderful tofu and rice dish which was cooked and spiced to perfection. Both of our meals were 100% vegan.

The staff is cheerful, friendly, and vegetarian/vegan and make you feel right at home. Simona speaks excellent English and can explain anything on the menu. She made some great recommendations for us and made the evening much more enjoyable. The vegan deserts were great and their selection of teas is fantastic.

Its seems Clorofilla has been forced to add a few fish dishes and creme sauces to stay afloat and bring in more people to introduce them to vegetarian cuisine. Their non-dogmatic approach seems to pull in lots of first-timers who end up going veg along the way. I can't fault them for that!

I wish I could give them five stars but since they are not 100% veg, I'm not allowed to.

Pros: Great Food, Friendly Staff, Healthy Cuisine

Honest food, Honest price

The oldest veg restaurant in Bologna, it has specials of the day(highly suggested) which are filling and yummy. prices very reasonable. Though some items contain dairy/eggs (will specify on menu), and has 2-3 fish dishes :-(. It reminds me of macrobiotic cooking only much more delicious. The owner is longtime vegetarian, is 48 yrs old but looks 35.

Pros: reasonable, fast and friendly service, good food

Cons: has few fish on menu
