The CoOp is a jewel in the Clintonville area. They have vegan prepared sandwiches/wraps/soups available which is great for a quick meal, or to grab for the road. Just a few minutes from 71 or 315, so it's great if you're passing through Columbus and want to grab something en route.
For locals, it offers the best in all produce and products that support a lifestyle that cares for our health, and the environment.
The employees are friendly and knowledgeable. And the place is always clean! Very important! The CoOp is a valuable link for the community.
I love going to this store. They have local vegetables and fruit. You can grind your own peanut or almond butter. They have quinoa, pasta, flours, beans, grains and other items in bulk. They get bread and other baked goods from different bakeries. They have vegan and vegetarian food along with some that are not. There is an area with books for sale too.
The Clintonville Community Market is a member-owned co-op that is open to everyone, members or not. For a small market (compared to grocery chains) it carries a great selection of organic, natural, local and fair trade products. There are two large produce coolers, a deli cooler with prepared raw, vegan, veggie and non-veggie items, other coolers with organic milk, yogurt, soy yogurt, tofu, etc. Frozen foods, several grocery aisles, bulk foods, spices and herbs. Wine & beer selections with many organic choices. Health and beauty supplies as well. Helpful and knowledgeable staff. We love this market!
I have been a vegan in Columbus for seven years, and the Clintonville Co-op has been a very big reason I have been able to do so fairly comfortably. Much of the Columbus vegan population shops here, and as such this relatively small store greatly caters to vegans. The co-op has great prices on bulk goods, has a good selection of vegan beauty products and has a consistent vegan deli selection. Expect to pay slightly more on prepared items. All in all though, it is a great store with character and one of the only cooperatives in Columbus.
