Very flavorful food & very helpful staff - Edit
I ordered the Crispy Tofu. The sauces and the way they combined it with the tofu, avocado and other topping was scrumptious. I would love to try more of their foods. My dish was amazing. I would not describe the tofu and crispy. It was lightly fried, but also flavorful.
Read moreI have a couple of unusual food allergies, and the staff was extremely helpful in working with me. Due to my allergy to yeast, I could not try the Shitake Bacon. I would have loved to have tried that, but there is nothing to complain about. There were definitely a couple of options available to me.

Updated May 2026. Have now been at least ten times and have been very pleased each time! Kudos for consistency - since 2012! (Just wish the vegan Reuben was still on the menu!)

these are fighting words, but while cleveland vegan has become an institution within northeast ohio, it's not necessarily the best. with to-go options, catering, bakery (including a monthly cookie), there is a wide selection to choose from. the cafe itself has a seasonal menu with a few staples that are generous in proportion. staff are always friendly, happy to provide suggestions, and answer any questions. my favorites include the classic gyro, thai rice noodle bowl, and banh mi. however, as a long-term vegan the novelty has worn off. but if you are concerned about cross-contamination, an all-vegan kitchen is your best bet.
Read morecleveland vegan has done a lot in terms of pioneering veganism locally but the options have gotten more bland and "safe", rather than innovative, over the years. while i may personally perceive this trend, this is still a safe choice to bring friends or family to try vegan alternatives for the first time. however, there's still a high chance that anyone who visits can think it's "good" - but "good" for being vegan.

Absolutely scrumptious! Everything they serve is 5 stars. Fantastic vibes all around. A cozy restaurant with amazing chefs and staff, and the BEST vegan menu in NE Ohio. Truly a gem. Honestly, it's my favorite restaurant in the entire state. The menu never disappoints. The food is outstanding. Always a welcoming experience. My nephew and I had the grilled cheese and it was SO good, very creamy! The fries were crispy and delicious as well
I also got some queso & chips which did taste good, but was beany and my sister said it would be better as a soup base than a cheese
My niece, brother and BIL all got pancakes that they enjoyed
I was grateful for the large cupcake selection for a birthday dessert and bought 2 bags of the Maui Monk pretzels

We really wanted to eat at this restaurant, but we’re unable to reach anyone on the phone to see if they were open. We tried numerous times while in Cleveland to get a hold of them and to no avail…they were non responsive.

while I really enjoyed the food some people would probably not like the noise there in the building when it gets really busy. But overall really enjoyed the experience and had a lot of great food available. I got the benedict 10/10 and the potato skins 9'/10 thought they were more stuffed potatoes than potato skins but they still tasted good.
