Vegan options not necessarily vegan

I wanted to eat the falafel wrap, announced as vegan in the menu, the waitress told me they use dairy yogourt in the tzatziki if that’s ok. I said no and asked for a vegan salad, the waitress said there was honey in the sauce if that’s ok. Of course I said no. So I chose a dragon bowl which was very dry and blend. But, the vegan Thai tea was excellent!

Aesthetics better than the food

I was excited to visit clear after seeing others go and reading good reviews but was so disappointed. It looks beautiful but it is ridiculously busy, staff arent too friendly and food was average. We arrived and staff said there was no availability, then walked off. We asked another staff member if we could wait and within 5 minutes we had a table. I order the nasi campur which was a really big portion for the price but was just average, not particularly tasty satay, rice or sweet and sour. The soup that came with it was delicious tho! My boyfriend got a dragon bowl with snapper which was overcooked and again a bit bland. There are so many other vegan options around Ubud so wouldnt bother visiting here again (for example Zest is phenomenal)

A unique space, great vegan options lovely ambiance.
We tried jackfruit Nacho's, Nasi Lemak and Tempe tacos all were really good .

Pros: Ambiance , Nasi Lemak was generous and tasty, Tacos were really tasty

Fancy place

I’ve had Nasi Campur, the portion was quite big comparing to the dishes that my friends had - they chose some non-Indonesian food. Also Nasi Campur is really not spicy despite it has 🌶️ sign on the menu. To drink I’ve had green hornet cooler which tasted mostly like cacao. The place is definitely a fancy one.

Best Nasi Campur

Has a lot of drinks with cashew mylk, the Chai iced Dream was delicious. Vegan dishes, vegetarian dishes and some of them can be ordered vegan. The vegan Nasi Campur was great! The vegan Pad Thai as well. Location and Service is also great! Would give 5 stars if possible!!!! A little bit pricey but 55k for this big Nasi Campur is still a good price. Plus: all the ingredients are from Bali!

Pros: Vegane Optionen , Cashew Milch , Nasi Campur!!!!!

excellent international and traditional Balinese fusion

When you step inside Clear Café, you might think you are in Manhattan at one of those upper class restaurants. The décor is somewhere between contemporary industrial and traditional Balinese with rusted beams and large tables made out of thick –I mean really thick –volcanic stone. The partition between the first room and the second one is made out of coins.

The style of food at Clear Café is international. It is not completely vegan but they have a few vegan dishes on their menu and they all have 'vo' sign (vegan options) next to their names. And you take your shoes off before you enter but that is a Balinese tradition anyway.

Pros: excellent food

Cons: not fully vegan, no alcohol

Overrated

The restaurant itself is beautiful, but we weren’t wowed by the food and they’ve also got a huge number of fish packed into a tiny pond inside. Take your money to a vegan restaurant who doesn’t hurt animals 🐠

Cons: Tiny fish pond, big fish

4 stars for ambiance, 3 for food.

Super cute vibes, was expecting delicious food from all the reviews but it was all for the most part just very bland. Maybe we chose the wrong dishes or were there on a bad kitchen day.

The nachos were our favorite out of everything! The pad thai didn't really have any flavor and the fettuccine alfredo wasn't creamy at all, tasted more like a olive oil pasta.

Looks lovely

This place gets points for decor. It is really cool. Though it does have a koi pond. Eclectic international choices. Had the burrito, which was mediocre, and the pad Thai, which was ok, though my companion really liked that.

Great food in a beautiful restaurant

My friends and I went here for dinner, the restaurant had a large menu with various cuisines including: Thai, Indonesian, Mexican and Indian. Menu was clearly marked with a vegan symbol.
The Nasi Campur and the brownie with coconut ice cream were amazing

Pros: Pretty restaurant setting , Many options , Large portions

One of our favorites

Went here twice, once in Ubud, once in Canggu, menus are almost the same, with many vegan options. Dragon bowl was our favorite, it's full of flavor! They also have amazing mylkshakes, especially strawberry. Worth a visit just for the unique dining experience too.

Pros: Nice staff, Nice setting, Diverse menu

Cons: Not fully vegan

Great food, amazing decor and vibe

From the hobbit door entry, to the flowers and decor, to an expansive menu with tons of vegan and GF options - fave spot in bali. Tons of vegan options from comfort food to traditional dishes, drinks, smoothies, desserts and more. Really amazing spot.

Super nice atmosphere and good food

Went here a couple of times. Love the falafel dish (I always order hummus instead of tzatziki so it’s vegan). Falafels are really good, maybe the best ones in Ubud.

Their vegan chocolate mylkshake is awesome (around 40k). But the second & third time I ordered it it was not as good because the mylkshake was not as thick and creamy as the first time!!

Staff nice too, sometimes the need to long to notice new customers & take orders. WiFi not good. Vegan brownie very delicious.

Pros: Good food & drinks, Super chill & cozy atmosphere , Reasonable prices

Wow what a place!

The most amazing building and interior. Such a beautiful place and awesome food. The menu is huge and has so many options for vegans! We shared the jackfruit nachos to start (a special on the day we were there) and I had the pesto pasta. Great portion sizes! Would definitely return.
