Vegan GF Sunday lunch - Edit
I’ve eaten at Clean Bean on many occasions & always enjoyed it but this was my first visit since a coeliac diagnosis. All the dishes can be made GF and their Sunday lunches are GF too. The mushroom nut roast was really tasty &, importantly, the gravy was delicious. Unfortunately the vegan version comes without the Yorkshire pud but I guess you can’t have everything

Excellent - Edit
This place was an excellent find in a lovely and clean sea town, beautifully trendy decorated with sea view in the front and a cozy closed in little patio at the back.
Read moreThere were different vegetarian vegan gluten-free options , all tasty and well presented. It was that good that we went for lunch, a different menu for dinner . We had a choice of different GF and vegan cakes and a collection of vegan Superfood latte’s I’ve never seen before, turmeric, beetroot (yammie) , spirilina..
Good price quality.
The staff was very friendly and kind.
Sad it is that far away from home, I would be a regular. 😋
Pros: Good variety of vegan and gluten-freefood and drin, Friendly staff, Beautiful well looked after place

Nice Presentation but Expensive for what it is - Edit
The presentation is always nice and as for drinks, I have only had the Hulk latte each time I visited. It's tasty but inconsistent with how hot it is and the most recent visit it was just warm.
Read moreAs for the food, I had a good experience during an evening sitting when I ordered off the special menu but during lunch, there was a lack of vegan options.
I ordered the beet salad but was advised they stopped selling vegan cheese so I changed my order to fajitas. There is a £4 charge to add a serving of tofu which seems pretty expensive when you pay £12 for veggies.
My partner ordered spicy rice and was not impressed, says the rice were watery, mushy and bland.
The vegan breakfast is nice except for the tofu which is heavy on the turmeric and feels greasy. We have had far better breakfasts elsewhere.
Over all, we won't be returning as it no longer feels like good value and we have not enjoyed the last few visits. The service however can't be faulted.
Pros: Atmosphere , Staff, Latte
Cons: Expensive , Bland, Few vegan options

Not worth the prices - Edit
Tried the vegan breakfast and the tofu scramble was just mashed tofu that had barely been drained, seasoned or cooked. The rest was also bland. I noticed that for several of the vegan meals (which are already quite expensive) you can add tofu for an additional £4, which is extortionate for one serving, even if it was better quality.

Disappointing for vegans - Edit
Visited recently (June 2021). Was disappointed by the lack of vegan options given positive reviews I had seen beforehand. The 'Protein' options to have with the salad I ordered were all meat or fish with no vegan option, yet was still charged the same price. Salad was undressed; it was just wet and covered with a sprinkling of Maldon salt. Really unappetising and definitely not filling. Real shame! Location is lovely and think this place could be great for vegans with just a few tweaks, but as it stands really disappointing.

Nice view from the window seating - Edit
The menu is pretty good and the server was helpful. I had the beetroot burger which wasn’t very flavoursome and quickly fell apart when eating. Asked the server about their policy on catering for those with a nut allergy in anticipation of revisiting with a nut allergy sufferer- the server asked the kitchen staff whose response was ‘diner assumes the risk’ - needless to say we won’t be revisiting.

Lovely views of the sea, relax and pleasant atmosphere, tasty food - Edit
There was a good choice of vegan options, I decided on the salad you could then pick a protein option either tofu or black bean burger. Ample portion size for me but some of the meat eaters complained about there portion size they should have added more options. Choices for dessert that day chocolate brownie, ice cream or sorbet. Everything is gluten free which suited my coeliac family. Definitely go back again.

Cons: Service was a little slow.

Lunch on the front - Edit
Situated on the coast with great views, Clean Bean is in a great location. Parking is easy enough too and free in surrounding areas. Inside the decor is stylish and there is an immediate warmth and pleasant atmosphere when you arrive with very friendly staff. A Mexican theme was on the special board so we ordered the enchiladas and a Thai butternut curry and a banana pancake for our small child from the main menu. The food although fresh, was unfortunately lacking in spice and depth of flavour, which was a shame.
