Lots of options and good food

This place had a lot of options and were very knowledgeable about vegan requirements. They told us they would use coconut cream to make the Satay. Would recommend this place to those visiting this area.

Great experience

Seeing as the previous negative reviews were a while ago I decided to give this place a go and I’m so glad I did! I had the mie goreng minus the egg and it was delicious. This is a family run restaurant and they are all so friendly. The atmosphere is beautiful as well. Check out this restaurant for amazing, authentic Indonesian food.

Tasty!

We were a bit hesistant to go to this place because of its most recent review but since that was quite a long time ago we decided to give it a shot. We were pleasantly surprised. The mie and nasi goreng were both really delicious and the portion was good. Make sure to ask for no egg if you are vegan. The staff is friendly and accomodating. But we really liked the ambiance, especially at night. Good food for good prices.

Pros: Can accomodate vegan food, Great ambiance, Friendly staff

Worst experience ever

Went there hoping they would understand the concept of veganism. At first I asked if the Mie noodles are vegan and they said yes. When I asked if they are egg noodles they said yes again, so not vegan. Ordered vegan Nasi Goreng and vegetable spring rolls in the end. Whilst eating the spring rolls I found a big piece of chicken in them. When I tried to explain this to the person in the restaurant he didn’t really care and played a game on his phone while I was talking to him. To be fair he finally agreed after 5 minutes of reasoning that we didn’t have to pay for the chicken spring rolls because I couldn’t eat them. Overall it was a really bad experience and I wouldn’t recommend going there as a vegan.

Cons: Don’t understand the concept of veganism, Staff not helpful

Nice place to sit outside

They play reggae music and have a lot of signs with funny quotes and hammocks. I liked the seating area with white sand.
The Nasi Goreng was ok, the Gado Gado was better with lots of yummy peanut sauce, tofu and tempeh.

Pros: Nice decoration, Inexpensive, Best Gado Gado

Nice sweet restaurant

We had dinner, the spring rolls are delicious/ chips were ok/ Tempe Nasi Goreng was nice I’m not a huge Tempe fan so it was just ok as it’s not my favourite in general. Staff were friendly and nice very affordable prices and decent servings. They are happy to adjust yogurt out for smoothies. Overall enjoyable

Vegan friendly!

Similar to another review here, I found that the staff were happy to make the nasi goreng with tempe instead of chicken and leave out the egg, and they also made a smoothie bowl without the yoghurt for me! Not to mention, the serving of tempe is so generous and it was actually the best Tempe I tried over my entire trip in Indonesia!

Pros: Great Tempe , Vegan friendly , Big serving

Cons: None

Lovely family run warung

There aren't many options for restaurants serving vegan food on this side of the island. This lovely family run restaurant has nice and cosy sitting area. The chef was happy to adapt the dishes for us on our request. The nasi goreng was delicious, but the tempeh goreng was even better! The tempeh is not (yet) mentioned on the menu, so ask for it.

Pros: Flexible in adapting their dishes and cheap food
