See how a sanctuary is run! - Edit
I’ve been to other sanctuaries and this one is my favorite. Why? It’s a true hands on experience. Lee is a highly informed animal advocate after doing this for 25 years. We learned so much during our volunteer “feeding frenzy” and he was super patient in answering all our questions. Oh, and the animals are incredible—the true stars of this peaceful place.

You'll get to meet the mascot George the horse and all the amamooxing fur babies that now have a forever home that has been going strong for 24 years and counting! Come experience what it means to truly being in an environment that does the sanctuary life the right way. Please please

A Great Place Where Animals Go From Peril To Paradise - Edit
This is a 100% volunteer-run charity that has rescued hundreds of farmed animals that were once suffering abuse and neglect. They rely solely on individual donations and some corporate support but stretch every dollar to ensure the rescued residents are experiencing a fantastic life. Please consider volunteering or donating as these places are few and far between.

aMOOzing! - Edit
I came with my sister and her boyfriend for the Wine with Swine event. I am so glad we were able to get tickets in time to go! This is a lovely farm with caring, compassionate volunteers. The animals have all been rescued and live happily and free here. It was a very fun night with great wine, vegan food, and of course, sweet ANIMALS!

Really Great Farm Animal Sanctuary - Edit
Went to a ticketed event at the sanctuary and it was great. All food (gourmet vegan) and drinks were included in price plus a very entertaining and animal interactive tour. The 2+ hours flew by and I can't wait to go back to volunteer or attend another event.

A Fantastic Sanctuary For Farm Animals - Edit
Before becoming vegan, I never really thought much about farm animals. Then, I realized the horrible conditions and situations that we put billions of animals in each year.
Read moreComing to CJ Acres was a GREAT experience and volunteering was really awesome as we got to interact "snout to snout" with cows, horses, goats, sheep, pigs and other wonderful beings that were formerly abused, abandoned or in terrible situations. Now, they're able to live out their life with plenty of food, space and love.
As mentioned, you just can't "show up" but they do offer volunteer sessions and special events that are open to the public. Check out their schedule at cjacres.org or follow them on Facebook at www.facebook.com/CJAcresAnimalRescueFarm
Pros: The animals are fantastic to interact with, The founder and volunteers are really nice, The sanctuary is very pretty & peaceful
Cons: They're only open 2 the public a few times a month, The dirt road they're on can be muddy at times

An Amazing Farm Sanctuary...A Gift To Those In NE Florida!! - Edit
As a vegan animal-lover in Orlando, I love the fact that Central Florida has compassionate restaurants to enjoy but have always wished that we had a farm animal sanctuary to connect with those special beings that are choices save. Fortunately, CJ Acres is only two hours (an easy day trip) where I get to interact with cows, pigs, sheep, chickens, goats, horses, turkeys, donkeys and other fantastic animals, while helping an ALL-VOLUNTEER charity. Yep, they are run by 100% volunteers and are 100% vegan! All of their gourmet events (like Wine With The Swine or ThanksLiving) are completely compassionate. This is a fantastic place and I encourage everyone to head to their website at www.cjacres.org to see when their next Animal Caregiving volunteer website or special event is. I guarantee it will be a memorable experience!!!
