Picture This... - Edit
... A very good selection of tasty vegan options, friendly staff and nice views of the Riverside. Well that's what we experienced on our recent visit.
Read moreI'm not usually one for burgers, but I must admit the plynt burger was delicious. My wife also enjoyed the plynt Frankfurter, whilst the satay bao bun that we shared was sooo flavourful. All of us even liked the shoestring fries.
Prices were reasonable in my opinion, and this is definitely an option to consider, as the choice is really good.
Pros: Good food / choice, Staff, Views

Wow ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - Edit
Because the vegan restaurant was closed for holiday we went here. They have a separate vegan card. We chose Brød Plates grilled cheese and mushroom melt. Both delicious but the mushroom was extraordinary. Highly recommended. Nice location and friendly staff.

Excellent food and wide variety of choice - Edit
This is an excellent place for food, with a large plant-based menu! I had the vegan quesadillas, they were super tasty. Relaxed atmosphere as well, and nice music in the background.

Possibly best vegan options in York - Edit
The vegan options at the Picturehouse are some of, if not, THE best in York - and you can sit outside by the beautiful river or on comfy sofas inside - what’s not to like?! If they merged the Picturehouse food with the in-screen comfort of the Everyman you would have the perfect cinema in York (until then I’ve tended to alternate!)

Would give it five stars if I could! - Edit
This place has a great vibe, a lovely location on the river, and a whole vegan menu full of exciting and delicious sounding options! I would love to return.
Read moreI got the cheese toastie (one of the best I’ve ever had) and the Korean chickn bao (I was worried about the price but it was a giant sized bao). Everything was great!
They had vegan wines marked on their menu too and the wine I had was lovely.
Pros: Location on the river , Full vegan menu , Food and wine
Cons: Lack of shade on outdoor seating

Great riverside location, yummy food - Edit
A creative range of vegan options, including a yummy burger with kale actually inside the bun. Their vegan bao buns are also delicious. The location of the café is lovely, right on the river, with seats outside for a sunny day, and of course your can go to the cinema. Also, it is licensed.

And the milkshakes! So sugary and so delicious. Recommend.

Pleasant surprise - Edit
I have lived in York for a couple of years and only recently visited city screen to watch an after work film.
Read moreMe and my husband are both vegan and we’re really blown away by the choices on offer as opposed to the usual offerings of falafel burgers and hummus.
There’s a really good menu with pizzas, wraps, burgers, a katsu curry and salad bowls.
We really enjoyed our meal and if we’d had room there’s a lovely selection of vegan sweets and ice cream to either eat in the restaurant or tubs to take into your screening.

Wonderful Cake - Edit
We only stopped for coffee/tea and cake. Lots of lovely options. The Biscoff cake was dreamy and the chai tea latte with oatmilk hit the spot. We sat outside on the terrace in the sunshine and watched the river cruises go by.

Have visited frequently for years and always interesting vegan options that are nice. Hard to get a seat though and to be honest would prefer it if you didn't go. Thanks
