A Denver Staple - Edit
Food here is so yummy. Same restaurant group as make believe bakery (they carry some of their treats) and watercourse. “Chicken” and waffles dish is to die for. Great for brunch/lunch/dinner/snack. Parking is a little exciting but worth the trek.

Mac Wrap with Seitan & Poutine Every Time - Edit
I go back and forth between the BBQ and buffalo options but get the seitan mac wrap every time. It’s consistently delicious, and I love the crispy onions and cole slaw inside! The poutine is overly salty but worth it, and I appreciate that they put the gravy on the side so my fries don’t get soggy. Prices are a bit high but well worth it for the quality and large portion sizes. Also tried the Philly churrasco cheesesteak and Caesar salad last time. Caesar was salty but good, and the Philly bun and green chili were delish! Soft without being doughy, and the “steak” was tasty, too. The only thing missing was sautéed onions! I just wish it was larger for the price.
Read moreUPDATE: Went during happy hour last week and opted for some apps. The chipotle kimchi fries and taquitos (my favorite of the two, which came with vegan our cream and jalapeño hot sauce for dipping!) were both delish! I got my usual buffalo mac wrap with poutine to take to the Avs game that night, and my partner got the AMAZING chicken-fried cauliflower and waffles. I ate a BUNCH of his cauliflower, complete with crème fraiche and maple syrup as well as carrot bacon 🤤 waffles were yummy, too, and we might have a real mac wrap contender here!

Great Atmosphere and Flavor - Edit
I got the Buffalo wings here and they were delicious but missed the mark just a bit! Overall a great hipster, eclectic vibe which I enjoyed. I do recommend this place for non-vegans to try

Amazing Atmosphere, Great Food, Great Drinks, Great Service - Edit
Was in town for a conference and ate here four of the seven nights. It's that good. Being from Canada I never had chicken and waffles before going vegan, but their vegan version made me realize why it's a thing. Delicious. Seitan wings were also absolutely phenomenal - had them two nights in a row they were so good. Also so great to see a veg spot put such an emphasis on social inclusivity and for having a set service fee to make sure their workers make a living wage. Huge kudos. Couldn't recommend this place enough!!

20% service fee :( - Edit
Excellent food but the 20% service fee is annoying. Especially when the service is mediocre. It’s really disappointing to be forced to tip 20% when your server does not give good service. I work in the service industry…smh. I also don’t really understand paying the 20% “service fee” for ordering to go? Why is that? I know people have living expenses but forcing customers to pay a 20% tip on their to go order just feels like stealing. Not a fan of that. I’m sure we will cone back to eat here but honestly I’d rather eat at Meta Burger.

Cons: Expensive , Mandatory 20% tipping - dining and to-go orders , Service isn’t always the best…too laid back

A Denver must try - Edit
Classic Denver veg restaurant. I would recommend the chicken & waffles if you're only going to get one thing, but I had to try something else this time. I had the sardou, which was unfamiliar to me but still quite good. They also have decent happy hour deals and a full bar. Bring a sharpie for the bathroom.

Must go! - Edit
This place was highly recommended and I see why! Fun atmosphere with a punk rock ode to Denver. We went for brunch and it was very busy but was sat right away. I ordered the avocado salad which I regret after seeing my fiancés breakfast burrito. The potatoes are amazing and the Winnie Palmer is delicious. Wish I could go back and try more things but definitely recommend. Go next door and check out the vegan bakery!

Largely underwhelming - Edit
I dont get it. Heard so much about this place and its so meh. Though I do have to say that ravioli appetizer is dang good. All of the other 9 items I've tried there really weren't that great. 2 stars because happy cow forced my hand. 1 star otherwise.

City O' City could match it's sister restaurant Watercourse and be totally vegan if they wanted to. They insist on being 'vegetarian' and that, in my opinion, is just sad.. there are plenty of places for vegetarians to eat without taking one of a handfull of places that cater to vegans and making it 'veg friendly'

Thank you to the person who called this a dirty hole in the wall - Edit
Reading a two star review calling this place a dirty hole in the wall, I just knew I had to come here! This place had the BEST food we've had in Denver and the staff was super nice and helpful with questions regarding menu items. Very nice place, too, it feels inviting and familiar. If I could give this place 10 stars I would!

Just No - Edit
I don't understand the positive reviews of this place. The restaurant itself is dirty, as are the people serving the food. The food was edible, but not good at all. We ended up paying over $60 to sit in a hole-in-the-wall dump and eat a wrap, a sandwich and a pretzel.
Read moreThe 20% mandatory fee is ridiculous and the servers try to guilt you saying that they barely receive any of it. So I'm supposed to tip another 20% on top of the "back of house" 20%. Insane.
Cons: Overpriced for below subpar food, Dismal service, Mandatory 20% fee
ClSchneider
I feel the same way about this place. I used to go to the Watercourse all the time and they never had a mandatory 20% service fee. Then one day it was just on the bill. It’s really disappointing because their service went down hill once the 20% fee came into play. It’s almost like they know they are getting a tip no matter what so why work for it.

City o City is often where I'll take visiting friends and family for a bite out in the city. I've always been a big fan of their food, especially the seitan wings and the chicken and waffles. It is a shame that they're vegetarian not vegan so I did knock a star for that, might not matter to you personally.

Flavorful Vegan Options - Edit
We enjoyed their sientan wings (their vegan ranch is SO good!), I had their club salad which has layers of flavors, their mushroom bacon really took the dish to the next level. My husband enjoyed the bbq mac wrap, which was also really flavorful! We finished off with the Whoopie Pie and ho-ho cupcake, which were great treats after a long day of walking around the city!!

I had their vegan pizza with vegan ricotta, mushroom bacon & garlic confit. Along with their vegan wings & their breakfast burrito w/ tofu! Highly impressed. Happy tummy 10/10! Pizza was 8/10 but wings and burrito were 10/10 I got my burrito with green Chile which if you like extra spice it’s the way to go!!!

A denver classic - Edit
I’ve been coming here for, like, 13(?) years. This is a classic denver veg joint with great ambiance, food, and amazing patio view of the Colorado state Capitol building. Also, the best good vegan late night menu in town (after 10pm). 💗

Owned by the same folks that own watercourse, I had trouble choosing from an extensive menu. Went with the barbecue tofu bowl, which included mac & cheese, a mustardy kale, coleslaw, and crispy onions. Outstanding!

Funky and Fun Vegan Foodie Must See! - Edit
Unique and delicious menu - we ordered the ravioli and Phillie Cheesesteak both of which were excellent! We also had a vegan Caesar salad to start. Patio seating was a huge plus and gives you a fabulous view of the funky neighborhood and the statehouse. Terrific waitstaff! Be aware gratuity is automatically added, but well worth it!

seitan wings !!!! - Edit
the seitan wings are my favorite of all time here! i get the half bbq and half buffalo and i am always happy with my order:) the service is on the slower side; however, it’s always been totally packed when i’m in there so i am not surprised. i had heard of others having negative experiences with staff ?? but i really haven’t seen anything close to that while i’m there. everybody is always really nice and helpful!
Read morei’d also recommend the caesar salad and (if they have any, it changes seasonally) any tacos you can get your hands on.
another note: stop by make believe bakery next door while you’re in the area!

Vegan foodie's paradise in Denver CO - Edit
We visited this restaurant from out of town and it did not disappoint. Because we only had one night in Denver, my partner and I shared our dishes as well as an appetizer, so I got to try the blistered asparagus and shishito peppers, as well as the cauliflower "chicken" and waffles plus the philly churrasco cheesesteak. Everything was delicious and beautifully prepared; my personal favorite was the chicken and waffles. For dessert, we had the girl scout trio which was rich and captured the girl scout cookie flavor pretty well from my memory (they are modeled after Samoas/Caramel Delites).
Read moreThe cocktails were also excellent!
While we aren't from the area, the prices seemed very reasonable given the location and food.
