BBQ Mac bowl 🔥 - Edit
I loved that it wasn't just Mac and cheese. The cheese wasn't too heavy. Kale with mustard sauce and bbq seitán were fantastic. I was initially skeptical about the value for the price but after seeing the quality it's a great value. I am very interested to return and try other items from the menu.

Tasty Pub-ish Fare - Edit
Came on my own, and if you're not planning to sit at the bar, this does seem like a slightly awkward place to be dining alone, but the food is tasty enough to make up for it.
Read moreCity O City has more of a bar vibe to me than a restaurant vibe, which I hadn't been expecting (and perhaps contributed to the awkwardness I felt, as I have always been a tee-totaler and thus have next to no time spent in bar environments). I was seated relatively close to the bar itself, as well. It was a bit loud for mousy ol' me, but the other patrons seemed to be really enjoying it, so if that's your scene, this place will be great for you! It seemed clean, too, so no sticky bar table problems, and the waitress I interacted with was friendly and helpful.
I wanted to try the poutine and the barbacoa mushroom tacos, and decided last minute to try one of the non-alcoholic cocktails, I think it was called something like a sidecar with a number? (I don't know any real drink equivalents and kinda picked at random.) The poutine was decadent and filling, with a pretty good melty vegan cheese curd, and the mushroom tacos were smoky and light. The mocktail was interesting and not sweet (which is what I was looking for), with a pleasant citrus bitterness.
Overall definite A on the food I had, but I think I would want to come with my husband or friends if I am in the area again, because it does feel a little strange sitting alone in there.
Pros: Delicious Food, Happy Hour Specials on Food, Interesting Mocktails
Cons: Bar Vibe, Loud, Dim Lighting

Excellent! - Edit
Stopped by in a hurry and got an excellent Breakfast Burrito and latte. The staff heard I had a time constraint and got my order to me quickly without sacrificing any presentation or flavor. 10/10.

Loved this place, lots of variety! - Edit
City O' City had something for every mood I was in when I was in Denver! Things are mostly vegan by default so it was nice that I didn't have to worry about specifying. It stood out to me how kind everyone was. Regardless of if I came in the morning or near closing, they were not only personable but got my food to me very quickly.
Read moreOver a few visits, I tried the fried ravioli, the tacos, both types of breakfast burrito, and a couple baked goods including the sweet potato cinnamon roll and the girl scout cookie. I had one or two coffee drinks from there, I'm not the biggest fan but I think it probably depends on who's behind the counter. They didn't have a regular cup of decaf coffee, but offered to give me an americano instead which was (obviously) watery and not ideal. Not a big deal though because there are coffee shops on every block of Denver.
My favorite by far was the on the go burritos, a perfect hot breakfast for a busy day. The Jimmy Dean one is a bit spicy, but the regular breakfast burrito was super tasty and the potatoes inside were perfect. It was not too dry or soggy, and served warm on a soft tortilla. The fried ravioli also had a great texture and a really good pesto sauce with it. I'm sure if I had more time in the city, I would've tried most things on the menu- it's that good!
Pros: Quick service, Kind staff, Amazing food
Cons: Coffee drinks were not my favorite

A standby with something for everyone - Edit
I’ve been here on three separate trips to Denver but my last visit was the best. I was in a large group and got to try a bunch of dishes. Standouts: the fried ravioli (more like empanadas), the brussel sprouts, and the gf cauli and waffles. 🔥

Never Misses - Edit
My friends and I love City’O’City! Everything I have ever ordered is top tier delicious! The chick’n and waffles?? Out of this world! The buffalo max wrap?? My favorite lunch in Denver. Also check out their happy hour!! Some of the absolute best plant based food you can find in Denver. There can be a bit of a wait during popular times, but it’s always worth it!

Our server Kass was so rad and recommended the BEST menu items, which we ate voraciously. MUST ORDER: BBQ bowl, fried ravioli, and mushroom tacos. Only grabbed a photo of the sundae 😇

OMG the chicken and waffles 🤤 - Edit
This place was amazing. Everything is vegan by default, but they do offer egg or dairy substitutions for vegetarians. I loved everything I got, including the city hash, Brussels sprouts, and buffalo seitan wings, but the chicken and waffles were by far the star. The bourbon maple syrup was to die for. I also have never had a vegan affogato and was SO excited to get that here. The soft serve was incredible. Highly recommend, and I wish I lived closer!!

Best we've had this week - Edit
The cauliflower and waffles are not to be missed.
Read moreI always order a lot of extra food while on vacation because I get FOMO easily and because I'm fat.
Everything else we ordered had to be taken togo because the Full cauliflower and waffles hit every spot, didn't feel heavy and was absolutely delish.
We also got:
The sweet potato cinnamon roll: good. Little dry
All day breakfast sandwich: Paled in comparison to the cauliflower to the point I cannot accurately give it a score.
Biscuits and gravy: Absolutely serviceable if you need that hole in your stomach filled (also reasonable price)
Along with the herby waffle and chicken fried cauli was Carrot bacon (not much of a bacon vibe) which was very thin and crispy matching the energy of the cauliflower. It was served on Creme fraiche that when mixed with the maple syrup perfectly balanced with the cauliflower.
Breakfast burrito with green chili: review to come as I'll be eating it on the road later.

Holy hell, the seitan in the cheese steak is so juicy. Got to eat it quick before it soaks through the bread. The cheese is melted perfectly too. It’s all a bit salty though, so are the fries.

Food came out quickly, good amount of choices to choose from. Wasn’t overly thrilled with the flavors, kinda bland. The lions mane tacos did slap tho, but had some major kick to them. Was excited for the cinnamon roll but they already sold out.

A vegan breakfast to write home about! - Edit
I am always on the hunt for vegan breakfasts that don't phone it in. City O'City does not disappoint. In fact, City O'City is the kind of place that just makes you feel like there might be hope for the world in these dark times.
Read moreThe chicken and waffles were delicious but I think the surprising favorite was actually the Sardou. It's salty, creamy and so hearty, I didn't eat again until dinner.
Also, I have to say, I LOVE that they offer two different $5 vegan breakfast burritos to go. That's about the same price as a breakfast sandwich at any literally national, corporate fast-food restaurant. Big love to City O'City for making REAL vegan food more accessible to people in their neighborhood.
Pros: completely veg menu, hefty and delicious vegan breakfast options, community oriented space
