Convenience that you pay for

Great small organic store and eatery in the Jamaica Plain neighborhood of Boston. Do a wonderful job of providing and educating about local sourced foods. They have a food bar that serves coffee, pastry, fresh made sandwiches, and daily specials. The food is good and priced reasonably. They also have a decent selection of fresh breads, organic wines, and local beers. I have no problem paying extra from organic produce or local sourced products, however the store also has about a $1-$2 mark up on all the typical products (Garden of Eatin chips, Field Roast products) that you would normally find at the local Wholefoods, so while it has a hip fun local scene having coffee and eating sandwiches it is not a very economical place to shop in the neighborhood for items you might need/want to cook your own meals. One local knowledge tidbit is that the do have a price reduction on fresh breads, bagels, cookies, and pastries when they are one day old. All in all if you have the extra cash or do not cook your own food that often it is a great LOCAL company that is an alternative to chain grocery stores that do not cater to vegetarians and places like Whole Foods that some may want to avoid to support more traditional "Mom/Pop" type stores.

Pros: Good beer selection, Organic produce, Good sandwiches

Cons: Pricey, Limited produce selection, compact

Addictive B2 but expensive and slow service

I go for the B2 vegetarian breakfast option, although it does have egg. It's addictive, probably because of the salt. The dish is a meatless patty and egg in a bun. Might even be with cheese (not been there for a while). Ask how long though the wait is before you order as it can take a while. It's pretty expensive as well for what you get.

Cons: Expensive, Slow Service

More options than the small City Feed

I have had a number of the vegan sandwiches at City Feed (they often change the options around). All have been pretty good, but I wouldn’t say any of them have been amazing. The vegan berry muffin is great though!
