I would give it 5 stars if I could - Edit
Although Ciri Biri Bela doesn’t have any vegan main meals they have lots of options for vegan gozba (tapas).
Read moreThe vegan dips are houmous, baba ghanoush and ajvar - the aioli was labelled vegan but I’m not if that’s 100% correct and I didn’t ask or order.
All the dips were creamy and incredible and came with amazing bread that was so fluffy. Our favourite dip was definitely the houmous which might have been the best houmous I’ve ever tried.
The cold dishes we ordered were the olives and the bruschetta. The bruschetta came on incredible bread and all the toppings were so good! The olives were huge and obviously amazing.
For warm dishes we got the vegetable kabobs, homemade fried potatoes, Parmesan artichoke (which actually wasn’t vegan because obviously it had Parmesan on it - just was labelled wrong) we asked them to remove the Parmesan and made sure they made all the dishes vegan.
All the food was incredible, we were so impressed! The dips were creamy, the fried potatoes were soft and were had such a lovely flavour.
The staff were knowledgable about vegan food and were very helpful!
Pros: Best houmous I’ve ever had, Fried potatoes , Knowledgable staff

Ask for the allergen list - Edit
After informing the staff I was vegan, and asking if the avocado bagel could be made vegan, they went to check with the chef. They came back to ask "is cheese vegan?" (not the best sign!) to which I informed them "no, no dairy please". The avocado on the bagel looked blended and whipped which I thought was odd but ate it anyway. Later today I was hit with the worst stomach cramps of my life and the constant need to be near a toilet. I ate my own food for the rest of the day, so this is the only place that would have given me dairy. For a place that claims to serve gluten free and vegan options on request, they really don't know the requirements well enough. Disappointing as the iced soya latte was delicious. I will always ask to see the allergen information in advance at restaurants now, even if they seem confident

Ciri biri bela - Edit
Really nice cosy atmosphere in a little courtyard. My friend could get her meaty fix while I could also have a meal which we found difficult to manage in some restaurants. Really yummy salad with lots of flavour. I had the tofu, sesame salad and for a salad dodger, really enjoyed it. It was quick and the staff were lovely. It says on the menu to discuss changing anything to vegan with your waiter but I wasn't sure what could be changed as you wouldn't order the steak and then just have the vegetables and still pay that price so it wasn't clear how that worked. But the vegan options themselves were clearly marked although not many.

Super cute restaurant with vegan options - Edit
Unfortunately there are only few vegan dishes on the menu but they are really flexible and like to offer vegan options if one asks. Total recommendation because the restaurant is super beautiful and the staff was totally nice!

Cute place with vegan options - Edit
Food was really tasteful (hard to find good places with vegan food in Croatia). Besides the options on the menu they can make vegan alternatives. The restaurant is also really nice! Would recommend.

Not very many vegan options available - Edit
So disappointed with our visit here!! We were so looking forward to it based on the reviews, but it was a huge letdown!
Read moreThe venue is in a beautiful setting and there was a lovely atmosphere.
The menu only had a couple of vegan options as a main so we chose one of each to share.
The waiter came to take our order and then said there was no flambée vegan option left, so we ordered a couple of starters instead, the olives with bread and bruschetta. I also asked the waiter if there was any other vegan options other than the baked potato from the farm, and he said no. This puzzled me because so many people have written reviews commenting that most things can be veganised. Ether he or the chef wasn’t being very accommodating but no alternatives were provided/suggested?!!
The starters were tasty but very basic, not worth the price we paid.
We left hungry and disappointed, but maybe we caught them on a bad night 🤷🏻♀️

Tasty food and great location - Edit
This restaurant is my favorite after three says in Split. The tarte flambé was amazing! Also the surrounding is very nice, very romantic. After a bit of discussion they offered us a special mix of olive paste (so so good), bruschetta, homemade aivar and olives as a starter.

Five stars!!!! Vegan friendly & delicious - Edit
We passed Ciri Biri Bela two days in a row and I was drawn by the atmosphere of that little corner restaurant. They have great staff, really attentive and helpful to explain the vegan Options! We had the Bruschetta, the homemade bread with hummus and avocado! As the main course we had the spinach, mushroom, pine nuts Tarte flambé !!! Very good! We will definitely come back and try some other dishes as well.
Read moreEdit: went there a second time to try another Tarte flambé and this time they had a vegan rose wine! We had a chat with the chef to discuss vegan breakfast options. The staff and chef (German) are super friendly and asked us for our usual vegan breakfast desires. We booked a table for tomorrow and will see.
Breakfast: we had a huuuuge breakfast of vegan treats especially made for us by the chef. It contained a fruit platter with fresh berries, peaches, apricots, banana, pears, grapes etc. we also got porridge with nuts, fruits, berries and a plate with crepes and berries as well as another platter with hummus, guacamole, crackers, homemade bread, berries olives and sauted veggies !!!!! Go there and it’s always better to reserve a table for breakfast to be sure to get a seat: they have seats in the front and in the back. Such a lovely place!!!
Pros: Delicious Tarte Flambé , Extremely attentive staff , Cheap & tasty cocktails
Cons: Only lemon sorbet as vegan dessert

Delicious food in a beautiful setting - Edit
With a menu clearly marking vegan options it was a no-brainer that we would try Ciri Biri Bela. I booked online and I would recommend others do as it was very busy.
Read moreThere are two courtyards you can eat in lit by lamps on the table. The atmosphere is great.
Some waiting staff are more knowledgeable than others but the vegan options are clearly marked and people know what is it and isn't vegan. I had the bruschetta to start and then one of the veganised pastry pizzas. The food was really good!
Very cheap cocktails too.
Pros: Cheap cocktails, Clearly marked vegan options
