Going Full Circle - Edit
Dining here marked the end of a mini quest of mine: to dine at all the available Circle locations. Having at least enjoyed (if not loved) my experiences at all the others, I had no doubt that this venue would deliver…but my optimism was somewhat misplaced.
Read moreFirst off, this branch was obviously a popular destination for the locals as it was busy from the get go, so make sure that you reserve your table. Due to this, service was a little slow and some dishes did take a fair while/painfully long to arrive. However, the servers were as attentive as they could be given how busy it was, and they were more than happy to comply with all my peculiar dish modification requests (even if it took a few goes with some!). When the food did eventually arrive, it was nearly always excellent, those dishes that came with a side Arabic bread were let down by it being stale in parts. Despite the food being very good, my favourite thing that I had here was the date smoothie, it was incredible!
One major negative to my experience here was that I was served a dish with bacon on it and when I returned it, I saw one of the chefs remove the item and offer the same plate up to the pass. I of course made sure this was again returned to the kitchen. The shift manager did appear to point out to the chef as to why this isn’t ok, but no apology was offered.
A slightly bittersweet end to my Circle saga. As much as it pains me say, I don’t think I would bother to make the effort to get here again. As good as the the food was, (and the usual, incredible price) the speed of service near enough killed my enjoyment of it all. My advice would be to seek out another of their locations.
