Great!

We came to this restaurant 3 times already. Each time the food was done well.
A few things, I was not happy about, the chips were too salty, the flatbread was not a good combination for a sandwich (it fell appear too easily).
It would be nice if they can cook with less or no oil.

Pros: interesting food, friend and helpful staff

Cons: too much salt and oil in most of the food

First impressions.. not always as one might assume.

First impression was not 5 stars.
(Read the review)
Amber greeted me and explained everything was vegan√. There are many familiar meat like sandwhichs; Many Burger choices, a Cuban, a Philly cheese steak, etc..
I saw a Lasagna.. that seemed exciting.. the Pad Tai also seemed exciting.. Amber explained they were cold raw dishes (all blue items are cold & raw). I wanted something hot tonight. Prices seemed a bit high; some burgers were $15.99? others were $12.99 & $13.99 which seemed a bit high for a burger as far as i thought..
While a typical murder burger is ¢99 on every street corner in Babylon..
So i was a bit skeptical at first. I asked "which was the most economical choice cuz i was hungry." (..and little bits was not my favorite Rick & Morty resturant from an episode before Morty went Vegan.) Amber mentioned the Jack fruit BBQ and offered a sample. (Amber was awesome by the way) When i tasted it i knew that was my choice, from a good sized menu selection of all Vegan options. I also got two orders of Garlic bread, Tomato Basil soup, a delicious Turmeric Ginger lemonade Mother Kumbucha. The Jack fruit sandwhich came with French fries, slaw was already on the sandwhich. The "BBQ Jack Sandwhich" was $10.99 it was fenominal √. The Tomato Basil soup was a good portion for $3.99 and Amber hooked me up with two orders of delicious vegan garlic bread at $1 each!!@wow! I also got two glasses of house apple cider and added cinnamon (each was $4.) After eating all that Amber told me about the deserts which were not visible on the menu. I was already full, but will have to come back to eat here again, on account of the exceptional quality of the food that i did eat, & the fact that i must try the salted
carmel vegan cheesecake when i am not so full 😋!!!!
Next time.... Highly Recommend√√

FYI they have a bar and Art gallery with rotating art shows and local artists highlighted.

5 stars because the food rocked my skeptical first expressions off the cliff without my anti-gravity boots turned on.

Pros: 5 star food.Nice ambiance, chill progressive dnb, & jazzy grooves. Soft booth seats available.Cute, sweet servers&bar hosts. Family friendly seating.

Cons: Pricey (Rent is to [censored] high) location. , Hardwood seats inside/metal seats outside.

Diverse Options

My partner and I ate here twice while on vacation. The servers both times weren't great, but my partner and I have very different taste in food and I liked that this restaurant had food that both of us enjoyed. The restaurant was also selling St. Petersburg Pride 2018 t-shirts (obviously the shirt also said The Cider Press Cafe on it) which I really liked to see😄Here is what we ate:

Buffalo Bites (RAW) - My partner really enjoyed it and would recommend it. I didn't much care for this dish because I couldn't taste much buffalo sauce.

Bratwurst - Neither of us liked this dish but we couldn't put our finger on why. Perhaps there was too much relish or we would've preferred dill instead of sweet relish.

Buffalo Blue Cheez Chick'n Sandwich - I loved this sandwich and order it both times we went!!

Salted Carmel Cheesecake (RAW) - Neither of us liked this. We weren't surprised because my partner isn't a huge fan of sweets and I don't like a lot of raw food. Lol

Quality service and food

Comfortable and upbeat cafe on Central serving raw and cooked selections. We enjoyed the buffalo cauliflower, tomato basil soup, chick'n pot pie, Beyond meatloaf, chocolate cake with ice cream. Other items will need to wait for the next visit. All our food was good, and the service was excellent.

Food is okay a bit pricey

Food is decent but a bit pricey. We've visited here several times. It's nice to have a variety in Tampa but we like other options more. Lotus Vegan Restaurant is affordable, has a ton of variety and is delicious.

We were disappointed to find that it is 'kitchen policy' to not allow brunch for take out. We were ordering to go as we were traveling and wanted brunch. It's completely arbitrary not to allow brunch as a takeout option.

The restaurant itself is a bit nicer than some other vegan restaurants.

If you're in the area it's a great option.

Pros: Nice atmosphere

Cons: Can't order Brunch as Takeout

like Applebee's for vegans

I have been here a few times and just cannot get on board. Everything is over seasoned, and the food just doesn't taste fresh. It feels like this place is for people who want to eat a vegan meal without knowing it's a vegan meal. In a nutshell, it's exactly like a vegan Applebee's.

Pros: good for people who love burgers

Cons: overly seasoned, not fresh tasting, mostly not great service

Incredible

Great menu, delicious food. I had the beach burger. They were out of regular buns but gave me a pretzel bun. Also had mac and cheese, which was good. My friend had falafel and kale chips. Outstanding. The waitress was lovely, service was good, and there were excellent donuts. Can’t go wrong.

Pros: Wonderful food , Great service and atmosphere , Did I mention wonderful food?

Cons: None

Brunch menu is hit or miss depending on what you order

I had brunch here for the first time. Vegan sausage and scramble are bland and flavorless, but the biscuits and gravy are so flavorful and worth coming back for!

Yum!

The mac n cheese is so great, really reminds you of the stuff you had when you were a kid. The service was so friendly - I came with two non-vegan friends and our waiter was really helpful explaining the menu to them. My friends split the falafel burger and they both liked it. I got a coconut donut to go and it was surprisingly moist and tasted really great. Will definitely be back!

Mac and cheese was fantastic. Outdoor seating. My burger was great. However my wife needs GF and her burger bun was terrible. She had to go bunless.

Pros: great atmosphere, hipster area, great looking men

Cons: GF bun definitely not state of the art

Breakfast wasn't great

I'm a huge fan of a good savory vegan breakfast and was pretty disappointed by the scrambles my sister and I ordered. Her plate's presentation wasn't great and the black beans were burnt, like it was scraped out of the bottom of a pan. I ordered the country benedict and was not a fan. The biscuits that came with it were sweet not savory, an odd flavor for a biscuits and gravy style dish. I'll probably go back to try the lunch, but I would advise against the scrambles.

Pros: all vegan options

Cons: Plated presentation, Burnt tasting/smelling

A ‘Must Try’ when visiting St. Pete’s!

We had heard great things about this place and tried it out our first night in town! We ended up back the next night too and will be back again before we leave. There are so many great things on the menu that we want to try. Both meals were amazing! The menu is varied and unique!

Pros: excellent and knowledgeable service, high quality food, indoor and outdoor seating

Consistently INCONSISTENT!!!

We have eaten here since it opened a few years ago. Every time we go here they are out of something, the order is wrong, one part of a meal will be bad, etc. The staff is ever changing. I'm not a complainer, but this place can't seem to get their act together. The $$$ are very high compared to another 100% vegan restaurant on Central Avenue where the owners are actually overseeing their business and they excel at getting it ALL RIGHT...ALL THE TIME!!! I once sent an email via their website about another Cider Press bad experience...no reply. Since they don't care about their customers...I will go elsewhere...I'm done with this place.

Good Food, Rude Service

I come here occasionally and always enjoy the food. I would definitely say most of it is overpriced except for some of the deserts and dehydrated dishes. Almost every time I come here the servers are rude and act as if i’ve inconvenienced them by asking for a simple refill of water; and the food takes forever to come out.

Pros: Beautiful Restaurant , Clean, Vegan Bar

Cons: Parking, Bad Service, Rude Waiters
