Best Italian in town - Edit
Hands down the best Italian food in San Diego in my opinion, as someone that lives just south of little Italy and tried majority of restaurants there. They have a separate vegan menu and all pasta dishes are fantastic, conchiglie being my favorite followed by gemelli and arabiata. It is in the ghetto but the restaurant is very cute with an adorable patio and the prices are super affordable. Owned and operated by chef wife and husband from Milan, they really know their stuff and the place is always packed. Make sure you make a reservation.

Worthy of 5 stars. A San Diego must for vegans and omnivores alike. - Edit
To put it simply, Ciccia Osteria is amazing. I wish Happy Cow would let me give 5 starts to non-vegan/veg restaurants because this place absolutely deserves it. Exceptional food in a delightful atmosphere. Authentic Italian restaurant owned by a husband and wife chef team. There are separate gluten free and vegan menus with overlap for those who need it. Italian cuisine can sometimes be hard for vegans, especially in seafood heavy places like San Diego, but that is not the case at Ciccia Osteria! It was so exciting to have so many options - and to enjoy fresh vegan ravioli!! Our group loved the place so much we went back the following night - there were just too many things we wanted to try. Dessert options include vegan panna cotta and chocolate pie.

Great place with a whole vegan menu! - Edit
The ravioli was my favorite and the mushroom pasta was decent! I went with 8 other people and everyone LOVED their dishes. I would totally come back here and get everything else on the menu!

Worked for everyone - Edit
We went here as a family and everyone loved their food thankfully. The owner served us and he was very accommodating to us vegans. I wish it wasn’t so pricey for the portions you get though.

Great, thoughtful vegan menu - Edit
The vegan menu is good and varied enough to be a restaurant on its own. Lots of attention to detail in the vegan service and never felt like a second-class citizen. GM told me “everybody deserves to eat well.” I’ll cheers to that!

Solid Choice for Italian Food in San Diego - Edit
Portions may not overflow their bowls, but are plenty to fill up a normal human. Quality and thoughtfulness far excesses what I excepted at $13 a plate.
