Chutnej 2.0 - Edit
They don’t do pizzas anymore 😢 (you have to go to their 2nd place, Hot Plants, for their pizzas now) but I’d say their menu is more fancy now. Every dish we tried was really good and well executed but lacked protein !

Delicious food, relaxed atmosphere - Edit
I was on the final day of my trip to Prague, and it was my birthday -- so I wanted to go somewhere special, and the reviews of Chutnej were all so positive that I decided to give it a shot. I wasn't disappointed!
Read moreFirst: I was there at 5 p.m. on a Sunday, and the place was quiet and relatively empty. The staff members spoke great English, and were attentive and helpful at every turn. The food was
I ordered gazpacho, sauerkraut patties, and the cauliflower steak, all of which were great. Both the patties and the steak were breaded and fried, so I probably should have gone with one or the other -- but they were both terrific, and the salad that came with the cauliflower was good, too. (I never would have thought of using sauerkraut in patties like that, and now I'm thinking about how to make them at home. The mustard sauce they came with was also terrific, and seemed to include vegan mustard.) I had an elderberry lemonade to drink that wasn't too strong or sweet, which was just fine by me.
I couldn't have asked for a nicer way to end my trip to Prague. I definitely recommend visiting this restaurant when you're in town, especially if you're in the area near the National Gallery Prague's Trade Fair Palace or the Letna Park overlooking the river, both of which are a short walk away.
Pros: Delicious food, Large portions, Great service and atmosphere

We had a really nice meal at Chutnej - the pizza was great and it's in a really lovely setting with plants and flowers all around. Loses a star because the staff were unfortunately quite inattentive.

Had and recommended as a starter Trumpet pink oyster mushrooms, main dish the special Sunday dish Shakshuka with chickpeas, to drink a Brazilian lemonade with condensed coconut milk and dessert tiramisu with capuccino. Everything amazing!

Finally a vegan croissant in Prague - Edit
The burger was very filling, but not one of my top favorites. French fries with sauce are very tasty. The baked goods are very airy, light, and eaten in 5 seconds.

Delicious with obstacles - Edit
We visited the Chutnej at lunchtime and there was very little going on at the time. For starters we had the fried mushrooms with herb cream and the cream of asparagus soup, our main courses were the Chutnej burger and the baked "fish" tofu with fried potatoes and peas. The fried potatoes not only came with peas, but also with lots of capers. Accordingly, the dish was very, an i mean really VERY salty. If you ignore that, the dishes were great. The service had forgotten one starter, so it was served after the main course. The Monte-style cream for dessert was also very delicious. If we had stayed longer in Prague, we would definitely have given it a second try.

So freaking good🖤 - Edit
Wish I had the time to stop by a second time during my trip! I had the omelette and it was one of the best vegan-egg dishes I’ve had! The bread and butter itself was awesome and worth the walk there for (it’s also close to a park with some good views of the city). Also enjoyed a pastry, and iced London fog latte😄

Definitely recommendable - Edit
I loved the sauerkraut starter and the tiramisu, the restaurant is beautiful, the staff was very nice and tiramisu was also great. I wouldn’t order the ravioli pasta again, it was good but not drop-dead amazing. I’d go back and try other stuff though!

A little underwhelmed - Edit
I don't know if it's because my standards were so high based on the hype but I just felt a little underwhelmed. I ordered the potato gnocchi. It was fine. The texture was good with the crunch of the onions against the soft gnocchi. However, the only flavour I could taste was garlic. I had missed lunch so I was extra hungry and usually, in my experience, hunger is the best spice but this time it couldn't help out. The restaurant was very pretty and the staff were friendly.

Where are the food? - Edit
Went here for dinner the evening before Prague marathon. We hoped for good and filling vegan food to load up for the race. Ordered ravioli . Waited 45 minutes, then got 3 small pieces of ravioli. We went up even more hungry after the few bites. The waitress recommended us to buy yet another main course…
