Cheap and tasty

Really good place! We went there with a Taiwanese so no problem to order but there's no English menu at all and staff doesn't speak English so it can be hard to order if you don't speak Chinese.

Pros: Cheap

Vegan traditional Taiwanese restaurant

If you're in the mood for spicy food, eat here. This little hole in the wall restaurant is amazing. We had three dishes all for 190 TD (about $6 US), and felt guilty because the food was soo good we should have had to pay more. Apparently they also serve ma jiang (basically tahini noodles), because we overheard someone ordering them. I bet the ma jiang would be insanely good here. I think everything is vegan. We told them that i don't eat fish or eggs and they said they don't have fish or eggs. Translate your needs ahead of time because none of the workers speak any English, and my Chinese accent is so bad they couldn't even understand me. The menu is also only in Chinese, but there are photos of some of the dishes.

Note: there are at least three Chung Yi vegetarian restaurants in Taichung. The map point on HappyCow isn't exactly correct so I uploaded a screen shot of the restaurant point (red waypoint) from google maps.

Pros: spicy , vegan , cheap

Cons: too oily, very salty
