WOW everybody was right about how amazing this place is

We absolutely loved the sandwiches we got here! The location is a bit sketchy, and getting in and out of the parking lot was tricky because it was fenced off on most sides, so squeezing in and out with so many other cars was challenging, plus there were a lot of people on the sidewalks. Totally worth it for the amazing food, though! My photo does not do it justice. We got the BBQ pork sandwich and the sesame beef sandwich, and both were incredible. Great prices and amazing food. The people working there seemed nice and friendly.

Pros: Incredible sandwiches, Great prices, Kind staff

Cons: Challenging parking

Echo this exactly, the area has unfortunately really deteriorated, but it's such a gem.

Vegan buffets need to be more common!

BBQ banh mi was delicious, but the self serve options were even better! Plus you have the option of buying just one plate if you’re not hungry enough for all-you-can-eat.

Great sandwiches

Happened to be in this part of town and was looking for a new vegan spot to try. What a gem. We tried two different bahn mi variants (beef and pork), both were delicious. The deli meats they use were fantastic and unlike what I’ve had elsewhere. Also sampled the spring and summer rolls which were excellent. Staff was super friendly, and seemed like they were packing up free food for the community while we where there.

Pros: Sandwiches, Community involvement , Friendly

Banh Me!

I’ve seen ChuMinh Tofu go by several variations, with and without a space in the name, sometimes with a “vegan deli” or “veggie deli” attached, but they’re all the same place. The important part is that they serve 100% vegan Vietnamese food. I’m very rarely in the International District, so I never really had the opportunity to try it until relatively recently when I moved a lot closer, making swinging by to pick up a to-go order or ordering delivery way more convenient. Now that I have, I feel like I’ve been missing out.

I hadn’t had a lot of Vietnamese food before moving to Seattle but I fell in love with the “Bánh Mì” sandwich very quickly. I’ve had vegan takes on the Bánh Mì, both traditional and far from it, at quite a few places over the years, and while I’ve liked just about every single one of them, ChuMinh’s are certainly among the best in the city. The crispy baguette is perfect, the veggies are always fresh, and while the basic sandwich is more or less identical, they have something like 10 different variations available with different “meats.” These options are all quite unique, either being housemade or at least using uncommon brands of faux meat. Even their tofu isn’t quite like any I’ve had on a Bánh Mì anywhere else. While I’ve tried less than half of them, the BBQ Pork is probably my favorite so far. If I were rating them on their sandwiches alone, I'd give them 5 stars. As for the rest of the menu, the easiest way (and in many cases, the only way) to sample some of their more unusual dishes has to be their all-day buffet, which is easily the main draw for dining in, despite the no frills interior ambiance fitting the strip mall exterior of the restaurant, which, by the way, has its own parking. So far, everything I’ve tried was interesting and even some fairly basic staples (such as the pictured stir-fried rice noodles, fresh rolls, and spring rolls) were competent takes on classic recipes and pretty tasty. Prices are relatively good, and while portions aren’t ridiculously huge, I doubt you’d ever leave hungry. Definitely recommended!

A quick note for visitors from out of town: ChuMinh Tofu is located in a busy and often looked upon as “sketchy” area of Little Saigon as some other reviews have noted. Plan accordingly, and if this dissuades you, ChuMinh’s take-out and delivery game is strong.

Vegan Buffet

Hole in the wall and no frills kind of place. But those are often some of the best spots. We stuffed ourselves with the vegan buffet offered here. The buffet price is a little pricey, but it’s totally worth it to fill up your plate with everything. Plenty of great options on their main menu as well. My favorite is their banh mi sandwiches. The area is rough thanks to the homelessness crisis here in the city, but this business does commendable community outreach work to help feed the houseless.

Food was great, area is super sketchy and it was a really long wait

There were a ton of homeless and folks on drugs in the area. I had to wait for the sea of them to part to get my car in. I ordered and waited fifty minutes for my food. The food was all delicious and it was a decent sized order, but it’s hard to justify going back especially given the price.

Don’t skip this gem

It might not look like much, but ChuMinh is not to be missed. The spicy tofu Banh Mi is my favorite, and the sesame balls are to die for. Try the buffet, order off the menu, buy their in-house meat substitutes by the pound to bring home for your own cooking. You can’t go wrong. My only wish is that ChuMinh be within walking distance of my home.

Also, the owner is the sweetest, kindest, most generous person who gives so much to her surrounding community and every one of her guests.

Excellent all-vegan Vietnamese deli and restaurant!

Friendly, warm restaurant/deli in an out of the way corner of Seattle.

Located in a small (and scruffy) cluster of stores on a busy intersection. Off-street parking right in front of the restaurant.

The food was delicious, and the service (by owner?) was excellent. There is a buffet as well as a made-to-order menu for carry out or dine in (dining room adjacent to the deli counter).

Excellent value for the money, and all vegan menu. You can select from a hot buffet counter, order from the menu (I had a BBQ "pork" banh mi), on line, or from delivery services.

A real find!

Pros: Quality of food, Warm atmosphere and excellent food, Reasonable prices and generous portions

Cons: Scruffy surroundings, but no one bothered me

So wonderful!

Fabulous bahn mi with hearty portions of carrots & jicama; (spicy chiggin, roasted pk and spicey tofu), pho is wonderful and hearty portions and fresh fruit boba tea**
owner and staff are always warm & welcoming.
***good values as they offer free food for unhoused folks.
the pho has an array of mushrooms and flavorful broth. crispy & fresh egg rolls. summer rolls are my favorite. I don't remember name of this but it was refreshing and not too sweet.

I really tried to like it

After reading all of the reviews I was so excited to go here. The owner is super nice and welcoming but the food was so disappointing. I tried everything on the buffet and didn’t enjoy any of it. Some things were over seasoned, others under seasoned and overall nothing tasted good. I didn’t try anything off the menu but I don’t plan on going back to give it a second chance.

Amazing banh mi

Got the lemongrass chicken banh mi and eggrolls, which were both so tasty. The owner was also super nice and gave us some free dessert because it was our first time there :))

I can't wait to go back next time I'm in Seattle! Definitely make this one of your places to check out if you have limited time in the city.

So much more than tofu…

While Chuminh’s house made tofu is legendary, they offer so much more. While the buffet is a bit pricey post-pandemic, it’s worth it to try a variety of their offerings.

Wow! Get Their Banh Mi

To start - BEST vegan banh mi I have had in my plant-based ventures. Most banh mi shops will offer a standard, dry tofu banh mi as their only option. Here you can pick from a variety of options with or without mock meats. I went with their Sesame Beef Banh Mi ($8) and not only was the price great compared to California, but the bread was toasty, the spread was fantastic (esp as it's vegan), and the beef was great. The sandwich was bomb and I've yet to find a better spot to get banh mi.

We also got their Banh Xeo ($15) and Hu Tieu ($12). I haven't had banh xeo since going plant-based and this one was a great re-introduction. The crepe batter was super crispy and the fillings used tofu and mushrooms instead of meat. I loved the flavors and together with the vegan fish sauce was a great appetizer. It came out last since they had to make it fresh.

The Hu Tieu had a wonderfully flavored broth with noodles and veggies. It was a fantastic bowl of noodles to enjoy on a cold Seattle day.

With kind service and amazing food, I absolutely fell in love with this Mom & Pop show and wish I could go back to it more and more. They do offer a buffet option which was attractive as it's all vegan, but their entrees proved just as great and filling that we didn't need the buffet this time.

Pros: Vegan Vietnamese buffet available, Fantastic banh mi

Delicious food and friendly staff

We went for the buffet and everything was so darn good. I love tofu skin a ton and they have it sautéed in multiple sauces all delicious. I left here so full I physically couldn’t eat another bite though I mentally wanted more! The server that helped us was very kind. If I visit Seattle again I will insist on going another time
