Vegan Sauces and Vegan Jerky with Free Samples - Edit
We found Chuco Chile Company at the downtown farmers market.
Read moreMary offered us free vegan jerky samples at her stand. She also had hot sauce samples available (we didn't try).
Vegan Jerky $6.00 each or 2 for $10.00: Made from Mairinated Dehydrated Oyster Mushrooms. The texture was really good for their jerky. I really liked that they were made from mushrooms. The marinade was nice but I think it could be improved with a little less celery seed. However the more I eat, the less I notice the celery flavor.
Mary advised they are testing different textures by altering the amount of dehydration.
Mary was kind, friendly and genuine. She happily offered information on local vegan options and was very positive. She advised that the vegan community in El Paso embraces diversity and tries to make everyone feel welcome.
