no more panini - Edit
They didn’t have the vegan panini even though it’s stated on the menu, the lady searched for it in the fridge but didn’t find any so i assume they have limited amounts. The line for focaccia and salad was too long so i didn’t bother as i packed some snacks.

No Vegan Sandwich, Just Salad - Edit
Had to waste around 30 minutes arguing with various workers to try to get my vegan sandwiches (which are on the menu and in their point of sale system). In the end I “negotiated” to just get a few fruit cups for the same price. There is a vegan salad but it has nuts on it which I cannot have.

No vegan options - Edit
Or, more accurately, there is a single (terrible) vegan salad. I would advise bringing in your own food if you can.

Nice vegan sandwich :) - Edit
Vegan sandwich was tasteful (tomato, aubergine, artichoke etc), but there was nothing else on offer for lunch/savouries (focaccia had cheese in)

Tasty fruit sorbet - Edit
Had a cup with melon and lemon sorbet, it was tasty, not too sweet and inexpensive. Great for a warm day. There were other options available.

Vegan coffee and croissant at least - Edit
Bring a picnic when you go to Pompéi in the off season ! Luckily we had some left over pizza in the bag, there were no sandwiches without meat. We bought some crisps. And a vegan cappuccino (with alpro oat) and a croissant. The croissant was jam filled and really yummy. Wish I'd bought 2 !

Limited options when main bistro closed - Edit
Check in off season whether main bistro will open. If thé café/shop only is open, then there are crisps and some biscuits that are vegan, soft drinks and oat milk for coffees. No sandwiches/panini etc available that are vegan or vegetarian. Main bistro menu is good with vegan options. As park reentry is not available strongly recommend checking ahead of visit!

Pompeji Autogrill - Edit
Offers a vegan burger as well as coffee with soy milk and vegan italian style croissant (plain or with jam). All tasty. Good for a fast snack while visiting the ruins. The cafe is within the excavation area and cannot be visited without a ticket to Pompeji.
Read moreThere might be long queues during midday (even during off season) and it is necessary to queue up twice if you want coffee AND something to eat. Unfortunately no vegan ice cream. Contactless payment might not work. Cards are accepted.
Remark: Restaurant is part of the Autogrill chain and offers exactly the same options as the Autogrill Restaurants along the autostradae.
Pros: Solid snacks, Reasonable prices
Cons: Needs Tickets to Pompeji, Overcrowded at midday, Queueing up twice

Great vegan burger ! - Edit
We got there early (1130) based on previous reviews saying the line was long and it was perfect - served within 5 mins😄burger was delish and came with free crisps ! Vegan croissant was also delish. What an amazing setting to sit and eat a delish vegan burger in the ruins of Pompeii!! (Just wonder around and find a quiet spot) Best vegan burger I have had in a while and staff knew what was vegan.

Great burger - Edit
There was a really long queue, so I went to the front to look al the card if there where vegan options (like fries), but didn’t see them. So I walked away and when I took a look at the food itself I saw a plantbased burger. The burger was really good! The long waiting line was a less pleasant. It was really hot and had to wait in the line for at least 20 minutes.

Such a surprise - Edit
I was super surprised and happy to find a vegan burger and some vegan sweet bakery things in the middle of the Pompei museum. It was very delicious, the patty tasted a bit like the beyond meat one. The burger came with a small free bag of potato chips (vegan).

Good surprise - Edit
Normally on this type of museum park, as a vegan you need to eat a piece of fruit and some nuts...if you're lucky. I was very surprised to see they have a vegan burger and more vegan burgers. This is the only cafe inside the archeological park so you can't miss it. Not only they had the burger but it was actually good (maybe having low expectations helped 😅). The cheese at the burger is vegan too (I made sure to ask).

Vegan surprise - Edit
Was pleasantly surprised to discover a really delicious vegan burger here! Also a very nice croissant. Prices even reasonable - especially for inside a major tourist attraction.
