Vegan friendly and inexpensive

This restaurant was just a short walk from our hotel so we decided to dine here on our first night in the city. The menu has lots of vegan options and dishes are fairly inexpensive. We decided to order the vegetable dumplings, spicy tofu and fried aubergines in garlic sauce with rice. The aubergines with garlic sauce were excellent and I would certainly recommend this dish but the dumplings were a little thick and lacked flavour. The spicy tofu was ok but lacked a depth of flavour and personally I would have liked a firmer tofu rather than silken tofu. We also got a tofu with green beans dish especially made for our young without salt and spice, which was nice of the chef. Overall, some good dishes and some ok dishes so it's a 3 star rating.

Pros: Lots of vegan options , Inexpensive

Cons: Some dishes bit bland

Unlimited vegan banquet

They have a vegan menu, including an unlimited vegan banquet option, which we went for (vegan banquet for 3). From memory, we got cucumber salad, crispy shredded potato, spicy fried potato slices, stir fried bean sprouts, white rice, boiled dumplings, fried dumplings, spring rolls, green beans with garlic, spicy tofu, aubergine with a soy-based sauce, crispy vegetables with chilli oil... I’m sure there were more things I’ve forgotten too. The non-fried dumplings were amazing, and we ordered more of those (you can order more of anything since it’s unlimited). The cucumber salad was also really refreshing. There were also vegan dessert options, but we didn’t try those because we were so full.

Pros: Unlimited vegan banquet, Very friendly knowledgeable staff, Many vegan options

Cons: Not a vegan restaurant , Non-banquet options looked a bit expensive, No vegan indicator for drinks

disappointed

It may just be that my expectations were too high but I was less than impressed with this place. I hate to give a less than positive review. I had the chow mein and dumplings. Both were underwhelming at best. Perhaps I just chose the wrong dishes.

Pros: deliver locally, vegan options
