Overpriced and unpleasent - Edit
They sell set meals, the cheapest of which is 108 yuan per person. For vegetarian hotpot this is very expensive, I would only expect to pay that for a fully meat set meal in a fairly fancy restaurant.
Read moreThis, however, is a very grotty place. Bowls came dirty, food is served in a small wooden boat which was mouldy, the sesame sauce was old had started to dry, many other condiments had run out and not been replaced.
The staff were very curt with us and generally seemed annoyed we were there.
The upside is they do give you a lot of uncommon types of mushrooms, it was nice to try new things. I am not sure whether any come with a premium price which may be what causes the high price.
The portions are very large (though there isnt really an option to order less so this isn't really a benefit)
I would really encourage anyone reading this to not make this their only hotpot experience in CQ.

mushroom hotpot - Edit
Easy to find, with just 4 large tables outside on a terrace, right next to a little temple, food it yummy, portions are big, just don’t expect fine dining or a hyper clean surroundings/washroom

Mushroom heavy - Edit
Nice environment but I think the hotpot options are too one dimensional and if you want a bit more variety it gets pricey quickly

Fun presentation and flavourful - Edit
Hot broth was tasty and a great range of mushrooms and tofu dishes came out for the cheapest of the 3 meal packages, loved the presentation in the boat haha. Staff were very friendly and spoke over translate with us.

Susu Fufu Vegetarian Hot Pot (Donghuaguan Shop) - Edit
Tried the spicy hotpot here today. It was super confusing to get there even with navigation but I managed. Very tasty, definitely recommend. It’s not very busy so it was kinda awkward being there on my own, the food was worth it though.

Umami Heaven for Veggie Lovers - Edit
As a vegetarian, I’m always looking for flavorful and satisfying plant-based meals, and this mushroom hot pot exceeded my expectations. The broth was deeply savory and rich with umami from a blend of fresh and dried mushrooms. Every ingredient—from the tofu and leafy greens to the various mushroom types—was perfectly fresh. The staff clearly understood vegetarian needs, and the whole experience felt wholesome and delicious. I left feeling full and happy, not heavy. Highly recommended for vegetarians and mushroom lovers alike

Fantastic mushroom forward hot pot - Edit
There were so many great mushrooms! We also got tofu, tofu skins, noodles, and greens. I love spicy food, so it was so relieving, and therefore pleasurable, to eat spicy, Sichuan hot pot without worrying at all about cross contamination or having to smell meat. I got the cheaper option and don't have a single regret. Incredibly delicious. Highly recommend.

Chongqing Donghua Temple Vegetarian Hot Pot - Edit
A refreshing, healthier take on Chongqing hot pot. They offer both mala broth and a rich mushroom broth — flavorful but much lighter and less oily than the usual versions.
Read moreThe assorted mushrooms and fresh vegetables are beautifully presented and taste clean and natural. Each person gets an individual pot, making it easy to choose your preferred spice level.
A satisfying plant-based option that leaves you feeling warm, not heavy. 🌱🍄🍲

Disappointing , tasteless! - Edit
I live in Spain and there i discovered hot pot. Delicious, full of flavour. This is a joke. You can make this at home , take a small pot , boil some greasy or spicy broth, put some mushrooms and tofu (straight from the packet so it lacks flavour) and done. Forget sauce forget drinks. Everything is completely tasteless. No customer service. Dirty tables (place is not busy) Avoid .

Nice vegan hot pot experience - Edit
We can only agree to the other reviews. The people were very friendly, we communicated via translation apps. We chose the middle menu and got a range of tofu variants along with the great selection of mushrooms. They also served homemade tea (with free refills) for 20 RMB. All in all it was a great experience, only lacking more taste (no garlic or salt) and compared to other places more expensive.

Mushroom hot pot - Edit
The hot pot comes with an impressive variety of mushrooms, some of which I had never seen before. We also got tofu, and some noodles on request. We ordered the cheapest option and didn't get any other vegetables like kelp or fresh greens but maybe other packages had this. The broth was tasty, friendly and helpful service. The dipping sauces were fine but missing garlic onion and coriander, I think because it's Buddist.

Vegan Hot Pot in Chongqing - Edit
The opportunity to try a vegan version of the hot pot with lots of rare mushrooms. We asked for the cheapest and the second cheapest. It included a lot of different ingredients (pictures). We've been offered to add for free potatoes, cabbage and rice too, but we literally couldn't eat more. The girl who attended us didn't know English but used a translator app to be sure the spiciness was ok, etc.

Cons: Bit expensive, but it's worth the experience.

Unique temple hot-pot - Edit
The restaurant is a very simple space, up the stairs to the right after you enter the temple courtyard. I was alone, and chose the 108¥ option, with delicious mushroom soup. I was given two big platters of mushrooms, veggies, etc. and was told I could have more of anything (I got more tofu).

I walk past and saw this place. I choose the cheapest option coz I couldn’t finish all the hotpot by myself. Quite peaceful eating areas and friendly staff. There’s Temple with Chinese garden eating or relaxing areas.

Delicious! - Edit
A vegan hotpot restaurant inside a temple, accessible from the main road. Delicious food (lots and lots, no chance to finish it all, plus we were offered seconds had we wanted any). It’s got 4 flavours of broth: tomato, mushroom, spicy (ma la tang) and pickles (pickled veg soup, suan cai). Each guest gets their own personal pot to dip vegetables in, so you can try various flavours if you want! There are three set levels of ingredients (“the menu”). We went for the cheapest (69RMB per person) and it was delicious! Lion’s mane, spongy and regular tofu, pea shoots, cabbage, two types of noodles, tofu skin and a whole lot of interesting mushrooms! The place is a few doors up from where it shows on the HappyCow map. I’m attaching a photo of the blue spot (= me at the restaurant) vs the pin on the map. The entrance is through the temple yard door, from the main road - then on the left. Highly recommended!
