Good breakfast - Edit
This was one of the first places to open in the morning, so I decided to have breakfast here. There weren't a lot of choices, but the food was tasty. I had pancakes with vegan butter, a salad, and a small soup. I enjoyed the atmosphere and the staff were friendly and helpful.

Expensive Vegan - Edit
Disclaimer: we are vegetarian and not vegan and hence our views might be coloured.
Read moreChoice is a large restaurant (20 covers), yet has a lovely, warm vibe! The restaurant was literally warm as we stepped off the cold Kyoto streets for lunch and we were grateful.
The menu is varied but limited. Couple of pasta options, one pizza option, mushroom strogannoff, etc. The presentation of the dishes is very well done as well.
We ordered the Pesto Pasta, Mushroom Stroganoff and the Pizza, each as a lunch set and hence came with a small salad to start with. The salad was very nice! The stroganoff was also pretty good. The pesto pasta was a let down as it was very bland (less salt, pepper) including the sauce itself. The pizza looked delightful but the bread and the vegan sheeshe left a lot to be desired. To clarify, we have had some fantastic vegan cheese on this trip!
Overall, decent but not a place I’d repeat.
Pros: Mushroom stroganoff, Vibe
Cons: Pizza, Pesto Pasta

Went for breakfast. Not much of a choice!! There are only two items on the menu. Egg sandwich tasted good. The salad and corn soup are also good.

My Choice for Vegan Cheese! - Edit
We stumbled upon Choice quite by accident, but I'm glad we did - as soon as we stepped in the door, the service people made us feel very welcome and comfortable (especially considering we were wet from the rain!).
Read moreThe pizza was small but very tasty, and the burger was delicious. You can tell a lot of love goes into this place and its menu (and its cheeses!).
Next time, I'm absolutely getting the cornflake sundae - saw a woman scoffing one as we left and it looked to die for!!

Vegan Cafe for breakfast and lunch - Edit
All vegan and gluten free cafe with nice atmosphere and friendly staff. We ordered the egg salad sandwich (delicious and such a warm dense yummy roll) and soba salad (healthy and simple). We also ordered chocolate parfait which was tasty.

Amazing - Edit
I was super hungry. I asked the super nice waiter for recommendations. I had two dishes: A salad with smoked cheese, and a pizza. The pizza was small, but excellent. Maybe the best vegan pizza I ate.

I had the egg (not egg) sandwich. Tasted good for fake eggs but I missed real eggs. My vegan wife had the mushroom stroganoff which she recommends.

Awesome! - Edit
We came here for dinner and ended up having some of the best vegan food I've eaten in Japan (and we've been really lucky overall!!). The pizza was fantastic and the Halloween special (sweet potato and charcoal cake (think 'cheesecake')) was the best vegan dessert I think I've ever eaten. The sake (local) was also delicious. They also make their own cheeses, with the Italian and the smoky ones being our favourites. Absolutely worth a visit, or more if you're in town for a while :)

Great food - Edit
We had cheese platter, pizza, and a burger each. They were all great, I especially loved the mozzarella on the pizza, that really made it fantastic. Would have enjoyed the cheese platter with more variety but it was tasty nonetheless!

Alright - Edit
Everything was nice but it was quite expensive considering that the portions were very small. The pizza was the best dish. The pasta was a bit under seasoned. The vegan cheese was 50/50 some lovely and some meh. Overall, we had a fairly good time but would not come back as we still felt a bit hungry at the end. You can find much better value elsewhere.

Their cheeses were incredible (try the cheeseboard!) but the pizza was my favourite thing we ordered. The staff are friendly and very attentive. Bear in mind portions are small and it’s on the pricier side.

Very tasty & so many options - Edit
This restaurant was so allergy friendly. They have a cheeseboard and even vegan & GF quiche! We went here for dinner and the menu was so surprising. I didn't think I'd ever get a burger in Japan but this place offered one! They also have vegan cheesecake 🤤 It is a bit pricey but worth it if you have alot of allergies.

Peaceful atmosphere - Edit
I dropped in here for a coffee, so I can’t tell you about the food, but the service was great, stuff really lovely and it had a peaceful atmosphere, a bit old school, Japan style using darker wood for all the tables, instead of the often light minimalist style that many new restaurants have. The coffee was great.
