Read moreThe kale chips looked good, but instead I bought a cookie, a cinnabun, a decadent Twix bar and a Loco Moco bowl - all as takeaway. The Loco Moco bowl included pickled jalapeño peppers - I don’t usually eat jalapeños, finding them too hot, but I loved their pickled ones! Over rice were a house-made black-bean burger, two strips of tempeh and a good sauce. If I lived in the area, I would be here often.

I had the loco moco and my husband had the burrito bowl. Absolutely delicious! My daughter had an açaí bowl and loved it. I would definitely eat here again. The only thing that would make it better would be if it was 100% vegan.

At this place I got a kale and tempeh wrap. It was good but kind of grainy as far as texture goes - you could taste the individual salt granules on the kale. I think a nice sauce would have tied this all together better.
Read moreAlso when I asked what was vegan and what wasn't, the person at the counter was like, "well, this is vegan, only problem is, it's not gluten free..." which is always a slight negative IMO. Like I care about gluten! Give me a slab of seitan for all I care, that's not the reason why I'm at your cafe.

I heard about this spot from happy cow, they have several locations on the island. My husband and I took a 30min uber ride during our honeymoon to try this place and it was so worth it. He got the Moko Loko which included a delicious slaw and amazing rice. I got a BLT with tempeh and incredible vegetable soup. Honestly it was so good we went back inside to get more meals to bring back to our hotel 💖

We found Choice on the Happy Cow app and decided to check it out since it had so many great reviews. We were not disappointed! We had the tempeh Caesar wrap, the Benny Mac Loco Moco and the Genius Bar for dessert! Everything was delicious, prepared fresh, tasty, and pretty quick! The staff was very friendly, overall a great vibe! I was we had this little gem back in St. Louis!

I was so happy to see that Choice expanded to multiple locations since I last visited Maui. This location is conveniently located in Whaler's Village and is a bit smaller than the OG location in Lahaina.
Read moreI ordered the Kale Caesar Salad to go and was disappointed for a few reasons. First, the salad was basically $12 and when it was handed to me, it was super light. When I opened the box I was basically given massaged kale with a little bit of nutritional yeast crumbled nut mixture. When I actually tried the salad it just tasted like kale (aside from the bit of nutritional yeast) and I didn't pick up any caesar flavoring at all. The quality of the kale was fine but I felt let down overall by this salad and expected more from Choice. I'll still given them another shot given my experience at the OG location.

I’ve been here three times during my Maui Vacation. The first time I had a super rude cashier. Still we came back because the food was delicious and there are so many vegan options. Everyone else has been friendly and awesome. Very cool vibes and lots of people working while having lunch. They have in-door and out door seating. I really love that they have grab and go stuff to eat for anyone in a hurry. Highly recommend if you want a quick snack or a bigger meal.

The produce is touch and go. Sometimes they have what you wanted, but you will usually pay too much for it. They do have a lot of healthy choices. Parking is not easy. Panhandlers often hit you up outside or in the line. Better than the other health food store choices on the island. Small and crowded.

We happened upon this lovely place as we were going to Mana grocery store before heading to Hana. We tasted the mushroom Swiss chars black eyed pea soup and then both got large bowls of it and two super filling perfectly dressed colorful salads. We are full but there is more goodness in there! We may have to sneak a little dessert for the road.

This is a raw, health food veg restaurant. Don’t go here if you are super hungry. It has smoothies, acai bowls, and salads. It is fairly priced and in a cute area. However, it was super loud. I liked Moku Roots a lot better. When we were here there were tons of screaming children.
