Serves meat, vegan options available. All made-in-house soup is vegan. Fillings for sandwiches, toasties and jacket potatoes include vegan cheese, baked beans and bean chili. Vegan cakes or biscuits are available every day. Soy and oat milk and dairy free butter and margarine are always available, also. Dog-friendly. Open Tue-Sat 10:00-16:00.

Came here years ago and have always wanted to return, we finally did yesterday.
Read moreThere are many vegan options on the menu, today I had a toastie with herb mushrooms, it is accompanied with side salad, coleslaw, and crisps. B had sticky tofu with rice. I had a hot chocolate (real flakes of choc not powder) with oat milk. B had a strawberry milkshake with soya. Lovely food, friendly staff, and an unhurried atmosphere. Can't wait to visit here again to try the other options.
Afterwards we had a wander round the craft and antiques centre attached.
Toilets are up stairs. There is limited parking at the front of the building.

Love to go here as we can always rely on vegan options with cakes or meals. Always fresh and well prepared, great experiences and taken my kids several times too. The staff are super helpful and friendly!

Friendly café in a vintage & craft centre - Edit
The Chocolate Orange Tearooms are part of the Carlton House Vintage, Arts, Crafts and Home Interiors Centre. They are very vegan friendly and serve an excellent and good value breakfast. The soup of the day is always vegan and there is always at least one homemade vegan cake option. Soy or oat milk are available at no extra cost.
Read moreWe had a vegan pesto and rosemary roasted mushroom sandwich served on malted bread - they have a selection of breads including gluten free. Sandwiches come with crisps (ready salted), salad and a homemade vegan beetroot coleslaw. Afterwards we looked at the cakes and had an Oreo brownie and lime buttercream sponge.
Pros: Lots of vegan options and very accommodating., Cash and contactless payments., Seating inside and out.
Cons: Closed Sundays and Mondays., Limited free parking but other parking available.

Delicious cake - Edit
Chocolate Orange still going strong and catering for vegans. We were too early for lunch (but there were vegan options) so indulged in the Tropical Fruit Flapjack and loose leaf tea. Delicious. Vegan scones also on offer. Nice owner who makes all the cakes.
