Highly recommend! - Edit
Chocolat is a long-time Santa Cruz restaurant, but I didn't visit for the first time until April 2026 when they participated in the Santa Cruz Vegan Chef Challenge. I tried their deep-dish pizza with house-made cashew cheese, and that pizza was definitely the highlight that made me want to go back.
Read moreOn a recent return visit, I was glad to see they’ve added an entire dedicated vegan menu, including a good selection of desserts.
A few highlights from my visits:
The Space: There is a really nice garden patio right as you enter. I sat outside both times and prefer it.
Dog-Friendly: The outdoor area is pet-friendly; the table next to us had a small dog with them.
Service: Both the owner and the server were very friendly and attentive throughout our meal.
I'm looking forward to going back again to try some of the other entrees and desserts.
