The vegan ceviche - Edit
Had lunch at this place twice in a 6 day visit to SF it's so good. The cauliflower ceviche is to die for. Also had the veg bowl both times with jackfruit and it's just perfect.

5-star place. Absolutely amazing food both for vegans, pescatarians, vegetarians and meat eaters as well. As a mostly veg with a vegan SO and a meat eater friend we came back here after our first visit to try more food, it's perfect!

Excellent food really. I has the jackfruit tacos and cauliflower cevice. The jackfruit was made very well and the tacos as a whole were awesome. Cevice was also very tasty but I would maybe say that other veggies could substitute fish better than cauliflower. Big recommend!

This place has some vegan options / things that they can make vegan. I’ve tried all their tacos and bowls w no cheese. It’s pretty good but I wish they were all vegan.

I got the jackfruit tacos because of the glowing praise surrounding them. They were good, nothing too crazy, and not super filling. I’m still giving it a 4 because I feel like the texture of jackfruit can be iffy sometimes and they nailed it. The praise was fairly good too except for the drinks which were pricey. I wanted horchata, but with the meal being $10 it felt too crazy to spend $6 for a drink. All in all go here if you want a taco but I likely won’t return!

I've returned to Chisme again and again for their tacos: the jackfruit is my fav, but I enjoy the eggplant ones, too. And I love that their horchata is vegan! Too many times have I been to a Mexican restaurant and was disappointed when I was told they put dairy in their horchata. At Chisme, they use coconut milk! I think the cauliflower ceviche is overpowered by the coconut milk, but their salsa verde is killer. Do go for their daily happy hour for discounted beers and sangria: I thought the Barebottle Pineapple Pirate Punch was delightful. For a non-alcoholic option, the pineapple agua fresca is refreshing.

I absolutely love coming here whenever I have concerts in town. The food tastes amazing and there is quite a variety of vegan option to pick from. The entire restaurant gives the best vibes, and the staff is always so kind.

These Tacos were from heaven and I wish I could have eaten more. It's the kind of food you dream of. The atmosphere is relaxed and you can enjoy a beer or a sangria with your meal. They have mole made with peanuts, and for taco fillings you can get plantain, jackfruit and other varieties. The vegan tacos had texture contrast and exciting flavours with fresh ingredients and the plantain dessert we had was like a warm sweet hug with a cinnamon undertone - They were ALL AMAZING and I would go back there in a hearbeat. Be careful with the green sauce - it is not Guacamole and it is HOT (but you can order Guacamole too, of course).

We tried the Plantain and Eggplant tacos and both exceeded expectations. The black beans with rice and mango was ok. Coconut Horchata was a tad bit too sweet but very good. The coconut flavor was very mild which is good. Service was great, place was very clean, bathroom was clean and staff was amiable and courteous. We will be back to try the Jackfruit tacos.

Fantastic Vegan Tacos - Edit
A cool, casual spot with some of the best vegan tacos I've ever had! The eggplant taco reminded my of a fish taco, and the jack-meat taco has a pork meat vibe. So many flavors! I also ordered a side of chips and guac and the black-bean and mango, both of which offered larger portions than I anticipated. Everything there is priced accordingly (it's downtown SF...what did you expect...taco Tuesday at Rubio's?).

Small, casual place where you order at the register. Food was mostly good. The entrees were a little strange and my son and I wished they had some some more typical options like what we usually get at mexican restaurants. Was overpriced since the entrees came with nothing on the side, sides were pricey, and even salsa costa extra.

I had the plantain tacos and we shared the rice/bean/mango side dish and also the cauliflower ceviche. Everything was SO good. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Plenty of vegan options.

This place offers 3 vegan tacos. We tried 2, the eggplant and the jackfruit. They were absolutely delicious, the jackfruit wasn’t quite to my taste but my husband loved it. The only down sides were the price (not super expensive but for 2 smallish tacos that fall apart in the take away box, a bit pricey) and the menu not being clearly allergy labelled. The menu listed only one of the tacos as having mole (contains nuts) on top and in reality they all do. It wasn’t a big deal as they said they can leave it off but I wouldn’t have known if I didn’t ask specifically and with no other ‘sauce’ on top it felt a bit bare. I maybe wouldn’t have gone if the menu had reflected this but only because it’s not suitable for my allergies, the food was great. 8.5/10
