long wait, but worth it - Edit

Went for lunch and while the service was attentive, the wait was long (~45 mins) to get our meal, as the restaurant was very busy. However, an amuse-bouche of cashew cream, sundries tomatoes and olives on thin courgette sliced was brought out to everyone who was waiting. The meals (adzuki bean terrine, and quinoa cutlets, both with salad and roasted potatoes) were delicious and the portions generous. The side sauces - a citrus-ginger dressing and baba ganoush - were also really good and added to the meals

Just for the cheescake - Edit

Yeah the cheescake they have is pretty amazing. Normally I go for chocolate type stuff but went for this and it was special stuff. I don't dish out many 5 happy cows but the cheescake was certainly a 6. The main course I had canelloni (think it was gluten free) and that was very delicious. I liked the atmosphere of this place and certainly a nice place to go for an evening meal. Apparently fully vegan. Recommended. Although the over place in Salta is good to and I wrote a review on that.

Pros: Amazing cheescake, Relaxing atmosphere

Loved loved loved it - Edit

I got invited here by a Salteño vegan and I was really content. We were with 3 people and all took different dishes, all of them amazing. Very creative and daring taste-combinations and big portions (for me, at least). Central location and good atmosphere, only rather expensive.

Pros: Great food, Good location, Sufficient

Cons: Expensive

Buena comida - Edit

Muy rica y fresca la comida. No puse 5 estrellas porque las sillas son incómodas y en mi campo de visión tenía la nevera iluminada por luz Blanca alumbrado y resaltando los estantes medio caídos.
cosas pequeñas a mejorar. Igualmente recomendable.

Amazing food and super nice place - Edit

It was great food. We had the fietsta de hongos (OMG!) and the Phat Thai - both were so tasty! This is a great alternative to all the meat and bread you get in Argentina weather you're a vegan or not.
Great service as well and nice atmosphere.
Most yummy meal in Argentina!

Pros: Tastefull food, Great menu, Nice service

Cons: Opens late

just the best :) - Edit

i have been traveling a lot and tried many vegan and vegetarian restaurants all over the world and this is just really on the top of my list being one of the best veg restaurants i have been to.
(all vegan): got eggplants filled with cheese and mashed potatos and a salad on the side and this came with a small appetizer.
the appetizer already amazed me with the combination of apples and beetroot and cheese and caramel and the eggplant with the cheeese was just on point and the salad (i am really not a salad person) was amazing (if salad would always be like that i would eat it all day long).
the portion was filling, too and the price for this luxurious seeming meal just great!

Pros: everything, (taste, price, style, people, ...)

Fantastic lunch at Chirimoya - Edit

We had the most delicious meal at Chirimoya Resto Salta - my husband, who isn't vegetarian but eats veggie with me as I am, said that this was the most delicious vegetarian meal ever! Delicious vegan quinoa steaks and chick pea burgers, fresh and lovely salads, piquant sauces - really good and very healthy food! (There are also stews and casseroles and soups etc). Washed down with pints of gorgeous and interesting fruit juice mixes. Plus very very good value. Highly recommended.

Pros: Lovely food, healthy and really delicious, Great fruit juices, Very cheap

Good food, bad experience - Edit

After weeks traveling around northern Argentina and Chile, it was very nice to find a real vegan restaurant in Salta, in a country where meat is so widely consumed. My girlfriend and I had lunch there on April 5th, 2016, and after seeing all the reviews here our expectations were really high. The experience, though, wasn't good.

We arrived there around 1 pm, and even the restaurant wasn't crowded, it took more than 10 minutes until someone came to our table. With many options being offered (which is very good!), we asked the waiter for suggestions, both for salad and for the main course. Dishes ordered, it took more than ONE HOUR until we were finally served, while a couple in the nearby table received it food 15 minutes earlier even arriving to the restaurant after us. The salad came first and was very good, and when the main course finally came we found out both had the exact same spice and flavor as the salad, what made us feel like we were eating the same food during the whole time. The food, it's important to say, was very good, the dishes were very well prepared and the ingredients used were clearly fresh, but we ended up very frustrated for not feeling happy after eating in such a good rated restaurant.

Other negative points were the very loud music in some moments, playing songs that had very little to do with the restaurant's proposal and atmosphere, and also the waiter (who should know the dishes and could have recommended varied options in the first place) who went to our table every 10 minutes to ask if everything was ok - too much in my opinion.

Just like the title of this review says, the food was good, but the experience was bad. We paid 395 pesos ($ 28) in total, a moderate price for the local standards.

Pros: 100% vegan, Delicious food, Good location

Cons: Long wait (more than one hour), Waiter didn't help in choosing dishes, Music too loud in some moments

Great food, friendly staff, warm atmosphere - go there! - Edit

We went there twice during our short stay in Salta and enjoyed it very much. They are open in the morning, then for lunch and for dinner again and in the meantimes they go to the market to buy fresh vegetables and fruits - so every day there is a different and very versatile menu. We had wok, grain casserole, mushrooms, fresh licuados (also vegan), baked eggplants with mashed squash and more I don't remember now....
Everything was delicious - probably the best food we had in South America.

Pros: Everything fresh, really nice staff, almost everyt

Cons: About 8 $ for a meal + drink, salad dessert... Clo

the veg side of Argentina - Edit

after all those days with empanadas, pasta and pizza, I finally found the vegetarian heaven in Argentina :) as I don't speak any Spanish, the waiter kindly took the time to explain the menu to me - the dishes change according to what is available (season etc.)
salads cost 55 pesos, mains 65 pesos and prices of desserts range between 30 and 65 pesos. they also have freshly blended fruit juices.
the pumpkin which I had was incredibly good, flavourful and the salad was fresh. the dessert was impressive, the 'compot de higos' had a lovely texture, the figues were not too sweet and the cashew cream has changed my mind about cashew (wasnt a big fan of them). i was told that the honey which they use is actually not honey (but I didn't understand what it is) it tasted a bit like maple syrup.

I also liked the interior of the place, the colours and the 'open kitchen'

recommend going there! the food is worth the money

Pros: location (easy to find), friendly staff (very helpful), local produce (fresh)

Cons: price if you are on a budget, not clear if it's vegetarian or even vegan, staff doesn't speak English (but makes great effor

Among our top favorites in Argentina - Edit

This place wins a spot in our top 3 favorite places to eat in Argentina. We only got to eat two meals here, but both were wonderful! They have 3 salad options and 3 main dish options offered at dinner time. The menu is written on a chalk board and changes based on what food items they've been able to purchase locally. All of the food is vegan with the exception of occasional honey use. Everything we ordered was wonderful. The staff will do the best they can to try to translate the menu for you if you don't speak spanish, and they also have wifi that you could use to translate anything you don't understand. You could also just pick one of the options and be surprised by what comes out! Doesn't matter what it is I'm sure it will be great! They also have an extensive menu of juices and smoothies with a liter sized option that comes out in a pitcher for sharing. I wish I could eat here every day, it's that good!

Not as cheap as the info text above says, dessert for around 50 and I think about 70-80 for a hot meal. Still good though! Very tasty and beautifully served. Love the place.

wow,, super staff, even better food .. - Edit

this is one of my favorite veggie restaurants i have ate at anywhere in the world - seriously! i ate here several times during my stay in salta and some how each time i went back it was even better than the previous time. the lentil "meatballs" served over homemade vegan mash potatoes topped with a perfectly seasoned, delicious tomato marinara were legendary. the staff was super friendly and helpful even though my spanish is horrible - the food is extremely good value, very tasty and creative. a year later, i sometimes find myself wondering around the world in a new city looking for a veggie restaurant thinking of the food from chirimoya - don't miss out.

Pros: great food, super staff , good value

Vegan savior in Salta! - Edit

We have been traveling in Argentina for a couple of months now and were getting a little tired of making pasta dishes every night. Chirimoya definitely saved our taste buds. Most excellent dishes to date. Restaurant with a health food bent. Chocolate mousse and chocolate shake for breakfast. The shake had some healthy additivites... Forgot what though. For lunch stuffed small round green squash with quinoa tomatoes and a "queso". Came with side of delicious puréed sweet potatoes and fresh salad. Second dish was a salad with lots of fresh green including broccoli radish olives and shredded zucchini with this "queso" and a balsamic vinaigrette dressing. Yummers!!! Also served a wide range of juices and health tonic drinks. To top it off also bought hearty lentil patties for home prep. Each patty was big in size and Delicious in a sandwich press.

Pros: Good healthy delicious vegan food!, Good take away options

Cons: Opening hours

Best vegan meal in argentina!! - Edit

What can I say....amazing!!best vegan/veg meal in Argentina!
Very quiet place when we dined in, if only more people new about this place! Lovely waiter!
Hommus and dolmades as entree were bliss.
My main was a black bean patty, with a lovely presented salad with kalamata olives and mashed potato (best mash considering I don't like mash potato). My friends had a pad Thai ( raw style with zucchini 'noodles') and a warm quinoa stew. All tasted amazing!
We had a lovely chocolate style cake for dessert as well as cocao ice cream and tropical style mousse! Both delicious!
Walked away feeling full, satisfied and healthy!
100% recommend! Can't wait to go back!!

Pros: everything!!!

Loved this place - Edit

I came here with a friend and we both ordered vegan dishes, which were absolutely delicious. Most of the menu seems to be vegan and they offer nut based cheeses etc. instead of dairy cheese. The flavours are just awesome. The juice range is also really good. I would have liked to have tried a raw cheesecake desserts, but they didn't have any (possibly because it was the last day they were open before closing for a few days for Christmas). I had the vegan chocolate ice cream instead (see photos). Support this restaurant if you're in Salta!

Pros: Amazing flavours, Vegan cheeses

Fantastic raw/veg/vegan restaurant - Edit

We can't praise this place enough. Great food (5 stars for creativity and taste) for reasonable price. Service was energetic and very friendly. The blended smoothies were to die for and good value for 1L jar. We also took some home, as noted below the non-dairy milks available are not cheap but very good. Went several times, it was not busy in march/April when we visited. If only there were more places like this. It will be fantastic as long as the price/taste ratio doesn't change too much

Pros: Very tasty, creative, Reasonable price, very friendly, Close to centre of town

Cons: None really

Amazing vegan/vegetarian food! A must-try! - Edit

We were incredibly impressed with the quality of the food in this place, we came twice and both times the food was divine. The two chefs are clearly geniuses! They opened last month and all the dishes are vegan except that they use honey for some dishes. Apparently they change the two main dishes everyday, always one of the two is raw and the other one cooked. They also offer andean sushi made with quinoa. In total we tried four mains and all four had exquisitely combined flavours. The nut cheese they make is better than anyone i tried before (Australia and New Zealand). Price range is AR$ 30-45. Other things they offer are yummy desserts (the cocoa mousse raw is to die for! ). One more plus: the freshly made juices are stunning.
For those who are looking for milk options (our son is casein intolerant) they make super yummy sesame and almond milks that they sell as takeaways in 1l and 1/2l bottles.
Hard to find a con, since we loved the place and even the service was awesome.

Explotion of flavour! - Edit

This is the only real vegetarian place in Salta so far. I really enjoy eating in this place. The prices are low considering the amount of food in your plate. The best of this is the combination of flavours and the coloours of the meals! Vegan people just have to say that they don't want honey or polen and the cheffs just don't use any of them and they replace them for any other sweetener or superfood ingredient.
I completely recomend this place!
