Serves meat, vegan options available. Mexican fast food chain founded 1993 in the US and now operates outlets across North America and several more overseas. Set up is assembly line style where you could customize your order of tacos, burrito, or burrito bowl, and request no cheese or sour cream. Offers a savory sofritas filling that's made from soy protein, and some locations offer Impossible meat. Rice, beans, guacamole are vegan. In early-2019 added a pre-configured vegan bowl which includes the sofritas in addition to other fillings like guacamole. Open Mon-Sun 11:00am-10:00pm.

Okay, but

This location is okay, but I prefer the new Chipotle that recently opened on Foothill in Hayward. Maybe because it is brand new it seems extra clean there and the food taste sparkles!

Question the Veggie options!

The store is always messy. The food warmer always has food spilling outside the pots and makes you wonder if the veggies are mixed with the meats! I always have to double look before ordering. I wish this location had better design or process of separating the veggies with the cold items so they are away from the meats?

Pros: food price

Cons: portions are small, lots of salt, question if the food was prepared with sanitized

Always reliable veg options

If you haven't tried the Sofritas bowl, tacos, or burrito, you are missing a great vegan option at this ubiquitous fast food chain. "Sofritas" is a "shredded tofu braised with chipotle chiles, roasted poblanos, and a blend of aromatic spices," and it's a really nice way to add density to a meal. They also have fajitas veggies that you can add to any meal that are not overly greasy, as well as the usual guac and range of salsas. Don't forget the corn salsa. They say everything is non-GMO if that's important to you. Always a good fall-back for those times you have to eat at a non-veg restaurant.
