Positively surprised

I‘ve been here since 30 years but stopped coming when I became vegan. For many years they only had three vegan dishes but recently they must have changed their menu. Now they have many more vegan stuff including some sides and seasonal specials. I love the taste of their sauces and the portions are always big enough, sometimes even too big but they happily pack up everything for you to eat later at home. The staff is always very friendly and the restaurant itself has a nice atmosphere. I‘m sure I‘ll be back more often now.

Pros: Large portions , More vegan options than expected., Friendly atmosphere

Cons: Not all dishes that are vegan are marked, As most others they sell these poor ducks, A bit pricey but also big portions

If you can't make it to the city, its worth a try.

Chaus is in this place since decades. Recently we got a hint, that they added a whole vegan section to their menu, so we headed out on a nice day to try the new option in the area.

Yeah, sure, its a stereotypical chinese place, but, in that area, theres not much else around beside 3 crowded beach bars 2-3km away and the Rewe Supermarket right beside, which has some vegan stuff as well.

The menu had 6 vegan options on it, plus 2 on the special menu, so, thats a plus. appetizers or desserts? Not vegan. And even one of the house-brewd lemonades had honey in it, so better ask if not sure.

The food was ok, but we had better quite often (check out TanTamar or Soho or AnnRamen in Kiel if you are in the Area). The lack of seasoning was suprising, portions are not too big. Staff was nice and the place was clean. And there was no music, which we liked, but might have been a singular event.

Little hint on the side. The lack on dessert can be adjusted quite easy on Mon-Sat. Just enter the Rewe Supermarket behind the Restaurant, buy some wooden spoons and some vegan yoghurt, icecream or other snacks and have a nice walk to the beach for the sunset (2km max). Better hurry with that icecream ;)

Cons: seasoning could be better
