Secret vegan menu! - Edit
Ask Christine for vegan dishes. She is very nice and will make special dishes not on the menu. Best option for Chinese in the area!

Specialty vegan meals - Edit
Ask for the authentic vegan meal ahead of time and Christine will make you a multiple course, amazing, tasty, and often seasonal meal. I have eaten at hundreds of vegan restaurants and few often the delicious selection of well-prepared and flavorful magic that Christine whips up.

Prepares made to order vegan meals - Edit
The owner is super nice and makes us items off the menu that are fully vegan. I wish she had more on the actual menu but if you speak to her she is super welcoming and helpful. She is vegetarian herself.

Good option near Bangor - Edit
After reading reviews on HappyCow, we discovered that we are also pleased with the vegan options and quality (good brown rice and tofu) at China Garden. It was easy to order vegan, and the food was good within a large radius of not many vegan Chinese options. The atmosphere is quite casual, including hard orange booths, and the service was not that great. A sign informs customers to seat themselves, and despite only a couple tables being occupied in the dining area, it took a long time for someone to acknowledge us and take our orders. Not sure if we'll be back.

Lovely! - Edit
Went with my mom and we both ordered vegetable rice noodles with tofu. After the waitress took our order, the owner came over and told us she was vegetarian and asked if we were. I told her I was vegan, and she suggested that my mom and I share an order of rice noodles and offered to make an additional special dish of eggplant and green beans. Both were absolutely delicious and it was amazing to have such personalized service and accommodations. Will definitely go back!!

Awesome - Edit
Amazing vegan food options! Went with my Omni husband and mother for dinner. They both loved their food. I had spicy fried tofu with rice, mixed veggies, and a vegan egg roll. The owner is a vegan and was very welcoming and accommodating.

craving fulfilled - Edit
I am so glad a gem like this is so close to home. I called and inquired about vegan options and the owner answered and was very excited and offered to surprise me with a couple vegan options. I got fried dumplings with onions and veggies inside, fried vegetable rice and vegetables and tofu. It was soooo delicious. The owner was so kind and told me she has been vegetarian herself for 30 years and that they hold a vegan support group every other Monday evening! If youre a fan of chinese food or having a craving I definitely recommend stopping by!

Delicious custom-made meal - Edit
China Garden looks like an ordinary Chinese restaurant from the outside, but it is worth giving it a chance. The owner, Christine, is vegetarian. She offered to cook us an authentic meal if we had an open mind and just let her choose some things for us. None of the things she cooked are on the menu, and everything was delicious! We ate scallion pancakes with homemade ginger sauce, green beans and tofu, and baby bok choy with egg plant. Usually, we have to drive to Portland for food this good. We have been other times when the owner is not there cooking, and the food is still good. Only the menu items are available, however, the staff are sensitive to vegans and vegetarians. They will usually ask if you are vegan or vegetarian and add extra tofu or make a menu item special in some way if you let them know your dietary preferences.
