Ordered vegan meals but received egg

There were a lot of things we really liked about Chili House: the food was tasty and reasonably-priced, the ambience was nice, and the service was quick and friendly. In any other context, I would give a 4/5 rating.

Unfortunately, on Happy Cow, I'll give a 2/5, because we ordered vegan meals but what we received was not vegan. We asked our server whether the Hong Kong Stir Fried Rice Noodles would be vegan if were ordered them with tofu, and he confirmed that they were. When the meal arrived, we were disappointed that the dish included egg. Similarly, we confirmed that the Orange Tofu was vegan, and our server offered the option of steamed or fried rice - we opted for fried, and the rice also had egg. Maybe that's partially our mistake, since a lot of fried rice does have egg, but we had just ordered two vegan entrees, so it would have been nice if the server put two and two together and confirmed, "Are you sure that's what you want?" or "Would you like that without egg?"

By all other measures, this was a great dining experience, which only makes it more disappointing that it didn't clear the basic bar of vegan-ness. We would be interested in trying again, and take this with a grain of salt, since so many other reviewers have had much better experiences.

Omg good vegan Chinese food!

The orange tofu blew my mind it was so good. My husband asked if the general Tso’s chicken entree could be made with tofu, and they were happy to accommodate him. We’ll definitely be back here!

Excellent Asian cuisine in FoCo

Szechuan Tofu with Veggies and Fried Rice (request no egg) was amazing! A must try for Asian food in Fort Collins. Nice establishment and friendly staff.

Pros: At least 3 vegan options , Friendly service , Quick food!

Cons: Not a vegan restaurant , Cooked on shared equipment , Fish tank in the lobby :(

BEST TOFU EVER

I got the sesame tofu and it is incredible- seriously the best tofu I’ve ever had. Perfect texture. This is my new favorite spot!
