Good Option for Quincy

For a small town with minimal and sometimes NO vegan-modifiable options at local restaurants, where I ate salad and plain baked potatoes at most meals (and skipped one restaurant altogether because they literally had NOTHING that could be made vegan when I called to ask), this restaurant has a better selection of options that can be easily modified to be vegan. (Never thought I’d be so thrilled to see hummus on a menu! 😊 )

They are very willing to accommodate vegan modifications to their several lacto-ovo options. That being said, be very specific when ordering. Our server seemed to understand what vegan meant, but I stressed that I needed our food to not contain any animal products of any kind - no dairy, no milk products, no cheese, no butter, etc.

This was the best vegan meal I had during our entire stay in Quincy. I docked a star because I could tell that they had put sour cream on my hummus appetizer and then scraped it off before bringing it out to me, because a couple small sour cream remnants were still on my plate when it was brought out. ☹

I think getting the hummus appetizer fixed made the chef more conscious and that allowed our entrees to come out correctly (sans cheese/dairy products). So, in the future, I will likely always order a vegan-modified appetizer when I eat here to help MAKE SURE it’s vegan before my entrée is brought out. (Heads up: If your entrée comes out wrong, it will take A LONG TIME for them to bring you a new one.)

We ate:
1) Hummus appetizer - Requested NO sour cream (Spinach Tortilla Chips are cooked in soy oil. All fried foods are cooked in the same oil.) (I also asked them to skip extra oil drizzled on top – my own preference.) – Thick & tasty.
2) Hummus Wrap – Requested NO cheese - Yum
3) Roasted Veggie Salad – Requested NO cheese & a vegan dressing – Generous portion and very good.

I will eat here again but be careful about how I order and checking my food to be certain that the vegan modifications have been done correctly.

Pros: More vegan modifiable options than most, Happily accommodates modifications & questions, Large portions, Fresh food, Affordable prices.

Cons: Need to be specific when ordering, Chef scraped sour cream off hummus appetizer, Soy cooking oil also fries meat products.
