Amazing Cooking Class - Edit
I absolutely loved the cooking class. It was great to not have to worry about any cross contamination. Hà was so friendly and got us so many fruits and snacks to try when we visited the market. I learnt a lot, it wasn’t just cooking- I learnt more about how to balance flavours too. I would highly recommend this to anyone visiting Hoi An!!

My partner and I went to Chickpea for dinner and it was great! We ordered Cau Lao noodles, chicken rice plate, fresh rolls and boa buns. Everything we received was exceptional and fresh. The service was great - and they accept both cash and card!

Nettes Restaurant - Edit
Das Restaurant ist in einer kleinen Seitenstraße in der Altstadt. Es ist sehr ruhig und das Personal sehr freundlich. Geschmacklich haut es einem nicht vom Hocker aber alles in allem trotzdem gut!

Fantastic afternoon - Edit
My wife and I had a fabulous afternoon with Ha and her sisters at Chickpea. Part of the cooking school we explored the local market and Ha showed us different ingredients & vegetables at the market and what you use them for, also some history.
Read moreThen back to the restaurant to start the cooking lesson. We cooked 4 different dishes and the food was so delicious thanks to Ha.

Best Vegan Restaurant in Vietnam so far - Edit
Super nice ambience in downtown Hoi An. We happened in for an early dinner while they were also holding a cooking class being attended by 10 people.
Read moreWe shared a tofu Banh mi as an appetizer and it was great. Bread was appropriately crunchy and tofu was well seasoned.
I had the pineapple fried rice that was served in a half of a pineapple and my wife had the Won Ton Noodle Soup and it was outstanding. Full of vegetable and rice noodles and tofu. Super clean and delicious. Wish we could try everything on the menu.
Banh Mi was 45K, Won Ton Soup was 80K and Fried Rice was 85K.

Magnifico - Edit

Wonderful cooking class! - Edit
Signed up for a cooking class here for 1mil VND. Held by kind, engaging and fun hosts, it included an informative trip to the local market, learning about coffee, spices and other ingredients, information about the city and Old Town, and great a instructional class on x3 vegan dishes.
Read moreAt the time these were spring rolls, a vegan chicken salad and ban xao (Vietnamese pancakes). I had great fun making everything, the leaders were very helpful and worked closely with you, they took lots of photos and videos for the memories and, best of all, the food tastes delicious and you’ll definitely have spare for lunch the next day!
Times may vary but for us it was around 6 hours so I thought it was absolutely worth it. If you’re debating a vegan cooking class, look no further than Chickpea Eatery!

We returned twice it’s so good - Edit
Delicious food here for a reasonable price. One of few vegan restaurants in hoi a but when it’s this good it would be hard to compete. Slightly more pricy but not bad at all especially for westerners. Would recommend for sure. Also offer cooking classes but only on certain days so make sure to line that up, we missed it but would have loved to.

Cooking class - Edit
After meeting her parents in Da Nang at their incredible restaurant, we decided to take a Vietnamese vegan cooking class with Ha. And what a great idea! She took us on a trip to the market, where she taught us a lot about food, plants and Vietnamese culture, and gave us some good addresses for other restaurants. Then the course was amazing ! A dose of good food, a layer of good advice and a good dose of humor. It was perfect, and all the staff were so attentive and friendly. It was a wonderful afternoon spent together, and we gained a lot from it. Thank you so much!

sorry just read your review and wanted to defend the restaurant a little bit, not wanting this to be an attack on you at all!
Read moreBut just looking at your photos it does look like you ordered 2 different dishes that have spring rolls and vermicelli noodles as main elements plus then you ordered a side of spring rolls! I'm not hugely surprised that you found the food rather similar. The menu has loads of different choices, the workers have brilliant English and are more than happy to help you order a variety of dishes. This place has had some of the most delicious food we've had throughout our South east Asia trip of the last year!
Hope you have a brilliant time in the rest of Vietnam 😁

Yes, the mission is amazing! The menu is huge! The ambience is lovely. But the price to flavor ratio seems disproportionate. You can get local, authentic versions of many of these dishes for half price or less.

Excellent Vegan Cooking Class! - Edit
Participating in Chickpea Eatery’s Vegan Cooking Class was one of the best things I did while in Hoi An. Ha was our instructor and she was incredible at showing us around the market and teaching us about local culture and cuisine. All the food that we made in the class was delicious, and I will certainly be making these dishes again at home. Thank you Ha and Chickpea Eatery for offering such a fantastic class in Hoi An!

Delicious food, peaceful restaurant, great staff. My only complaint is that I didn't eat here enough. If you can spare most of a day and about usd $40, the vegan cooking class is absolutely worth it!
