Not up to my expectations - Edit
I had wanted to try their food for a long time. I finally got a chance to buy their food at Vegan camp out 2025.
Read moreI tried the chicken bites and was really disappointed: very greasy (there was a lot of oil at the bottom of the box) and tasteless. The texture was okay, but nothing exceptional.
I may have chosen the wrong food though. I heard good feedback about the wings.

Scratches the junk food itch - Edit
Sometimes I just want to eat junk and chickenish is perfect. The coating and fake meat are very good. It's much more local to me than Temple of Seitan and I think Chickenish is better.

My festival fave and local! - Edit
Okay… so you’re at a festival and the best you see for PB options is a portion of chips. 😭 THEN… in the clearing you see your saving grace… Chickenish! 🙌 However this just isn’t the it place for vegans at a festival but it’s the place you show off to your mates when the ask whether vegan is all that? 😏
Read moreThat said, I’m super lucky in that Chickenish is a local take out spot nestled in a awesome little brewery too. 🍻 The owner is an awesome guy and always lovely to chat too! 🌟 However, the food is always elite! 👌 I once heard a man at the Vegan Nighrs festival in a state of disbelief that Chickenish is indeed vegan (go figure!).
Personally, if you’ve not been to Chickenish well… you’re just a bit lame aren’t you? 😂

Pros: Amazing tasting food! 😋, Cute occasional pop ups! 🥙, Loads of options! 🤩
Cons: Very generous portion sizes? 🤷🏽, Owner too nice? 🤷🏽

Hosted an epic hot wing contest at vco - Edit
Very cool vegan wing texture and meal options! Loved their hot wing contest. A bit pricy, but I guess average for festivals and/or the uk

Expensive Rip Off - Edit
I really don't understand peoples reviews on this place. I ordered a burger, wings and fries for £22 which even if it was generous portions is far too dear but what I got was 3 small wings a small burger and fries. Taste wise was ok if not amazing. I'm not sure how the guy thinks he is going to compete in the market with prices like that. I won't be eating there again

Chickenish - Edit
Although pricey, not bad for portion sizes. There’s deals, such as the chickenish bucket which comes with 2 wings, 13 chicken pieces, 2 sauces and some chips, for roughly just over 20 quid. Our gluten-free friend can eat this which is a huge win given how many meat substitutes use seitan; this is a gf soy option. It is worth mentioning that the chicken patties (used in the burger options) are more on the sweet side which can be a surprise if you aren’t expecting to mix sweet with savoury.
Read moreAll around very tasty, great texture, with decent portion sizes.
Ps. splurge on the tub of gravy.
Pros: Meal deals and combos, gf friendly , Pretty big portions, Big flaves
Cons: Pricey , Tad sweet on the patties

Fresh take on vegan snack food - Edit
Some ‘vegan chicken shops’ can be a little disappointing but this is spot on. Freshly prepared, a varied menu, great staff, tasty range. This was a super pitstop in a day of busy visits. It’s on the first floor of Crate with a communal outdoor dining area.

Decent quarter pounder w/ 2 rashers - Edit
I ordered a quarter pounder with two rashers and it was pretty good, though there was too much sauce to my liking.

The chicken drumsticks were a bit odd but the fried chicken is amazing. The basil sauce was so good too. Wish they had more chips and drinks options.

Fried chickin at its best. Most realistic I have tried and I've tried soooo many. I had to stop eating briefly as the drumstick blew my mind.

Chickenish - Edit
Holy ****!!! My mind had just been completely blown 🤯. I usually hate vegan chicken, but this is next level. First, Chickenish use yuba as the “chicken” meat, which is an excellent choice. The “chicken skin” was flavored exceptionally well and was extra crispy. I cannot stress how DELICIOUS the drumsticks were (look at the pictures I posted). However, I did select the garlic mayo sauce option and it was terrible (tasted like bad ranch dressing), so I’d recommend a different sauce. Still, the drumsticks were amazingly good without any sauce.

Tastiest chickn around - Edit
This place is exactly what London needs and the demand is huge meaning they do occasionally sell out that's what I've encountered anyway. It can only be a good thing as it may mean less chickens are actually eaten... at least we can hope anyway. I had the burgers and nuggets as the wings were sold out and it was delicious.
