Wow! - Edit
This was our favourite restaurant in Barcelona. We ate here twice just to try the cold cuts & cheeseboard again. The food is amazing and the staff are really friendly. It gets very busy but we were luckily able to be seated outside both times we went.
Read moreOur first time we tired the patatas bravas and the board. Everything was incredible especially the board. My non-vegan boyfriend was amazed by the cold cuts being so close to actual meat. It’s served alongside some really nice chutneys and bread. We also tried the lemon cheesecake which was great!
Second time we had the pan con tomate, sweet potatoes with truffle mayo, the board again(!) and finished with the chocolate cake with papaya ice cream and cardamom. Again, everything was incredible! Really couldn’t fault the food here at all and it comes out really quick too. Decent prices for the quality and the drinks are great value also.

Healthy and delicious - Edit
This is a cozy place that offers a variety of food, such as bowls, sandwiches, lasagna, or tapas. They seem to put an emphasis on healthy food, which I always appreciate. Everything I tried from menu was great.

Upscale food with thought put into it - Edit
Terrific gnocchi with pesto, fresh and tasty, 5/5.
Read moreThe tacos could be better, I'd give them 4/5.
They have both Spanish and English menu. Only few tables inside, also few outside, not very spacious (the shop used to be an optician, if I remember correctly).
Not that appealing desserts, for what it's worth.
For some reason though they left the door open the whole time (and the AC running regardless), despite it being a pretty cold day.
I would still come back (on a warmer day), there are many more dishes to be discovered.

The Kessler Run - Edit
We dined here for approximately 12 parsecs. This was enough to enjoy an extremely memorable experience of great tapas and hospitality. Superb Catalan tomato bread, sumptuous mushroom croquettes, a rich pesto gnocchi and pitta breads packed with kebab meat, hummus and veg. Might not sound like much but the flavours were something to savour and spoke for themselves. If this is a consular ship, where is the Happy Cow ambassador?

I’d have given a 5 but we were the only people in on a Sunday night so can’t make a judgement on atmosphere which I also feel is quite important when rating

Really lovely trad tapas but vegan and wonderful staff - Edit
Tasty food - particularly lovely to have such a wide ranging tapas menu with traditional tapas dishes but all vegan! The croissants also looked great if you fancy a breakfast!

Great food, staff and atmosphere - Edit
We dined out here on a recent visit to Barcelona and couldn’t be happier with the style of food, the attention of the wait staff and the ambiance of the venue. The platter was the best we have ever eaten with delicious meats, cheeses and breads. It truly was an eye opener as to just how far in the taste stakes vegan food has come in recent years. My husband declared the burger the best he has ever eaten (and we travel a lot!) and the desserts were mouth watering. Our lovely waiter was a pleasure to deal with and could understand English. Top venue, don’t miss it.

Wonderful little cafe with amazing staff - Edit
Chez Kessler is nestled in a little corner on a quiet street close to the Ramblas and the hustle and bustle of Barcelona. It is perfect for a quiet and peaceful break. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive. The food is truly delicious. I was so comfortable I forgot my appointment and had to rush out! A truly great experience!

Overpriced, but very flavorful - Edit
Neat, minimalistic interior.
Read moreService very good and very friendly.
Dishes provided in less than ten minutes.
The Salmon Carpaccio was tremendously overpriced, yet tasty. I think it was less than 100 gram of actual food. You basically paid for the decoration of the food.
Kombucha was nice. Ok price.
The Kebab had a nice and soft pita bread, which unfortunately fell apart after some bites. There was an interesting mix of vegetables and it is not the type of Kebabs you get in ex Germany. Also this dish was rather small, but fulfilling. Is it worth 13 euro? I don’t know.
The Lotus Madness dessert though. That was worth every cent. So delicious.
Pros: All vegan, Great service, Dessert Lotus Madness was outstanding
Cons: Not very priceworthy

We stopped here twice on our vacation, it was that good. The tapas, vegan cheeses, sausages, and even vegan “faux gras” was phenomenal. The location is prime and the staff were super friendly.

To die for! - Edit
Came here with 2 friends and the food was fantastic. We started with some tinto de verano and olives. Then came the cheese board and it was very tasty- good proportions. My favorite was the sweet potatoes with truffle mayo (wish we each ordered a plate) and the tortilla de patata was really flavorful! A board and 2 sides was enough for the 3 of us.

Tapas and wine was very nice - cheese board and spicy 'prawn' were highlights. Nice outdoor seating area.

The staff doesn't understand English well. Portions are disproportionate. - Edit
The cheese platter was the best one tried so far in town (I had 3-4 during my trip to Barcelona), but the salmon carpazzio main dish was an utter joke. Why have a side course branded as main course when there wasn't enough of anything on that plate?
Read moreThe staff had a very very hard time to communicate. I ordered a bagel and they came back with sushi. Asking things, like asking for the bill or asking them to clarify the bill, they either looked away while I was speaking to them or they couldn't understand my English. It feels completely off that I show a picture of a bagel and say that I want that bagel and the staff doesn't tell me the bagels are not available for dinner. She said something like "we have this in a roll, like sushi" and I said "no, I want the bagel", then sushi comes out. Come on? And to not own up to the mistake when I send the dish back? I was told "this is what you ordered." Jesus, terrible.
My friend ordered a ceasar salad and that dish was a whole mountain compared to my carpazzio salmon.
Top rated restaurant? Hmm
