Great food - Edit
Have visited 7 or 8 times in the last year and tried various menu options and have enjoyed every one. I am not vegan yet but the food here is such a great example of how tasty and healthy vegan food can be. I have taken my guests when they have visited us in Suffolk and all have enjoyed it and wanted to eat there again. It is also dog friendly so can tie it in with walking my dog at Foxhall Heath.

Friendly local cafe, popular with all - Edit
A welcoming place for daytime eats. Dog friendly. Understatedly vegan, which means locals often don't realise it is and love it. Clever ❤️
Read moreCakes are very sweet and similar, which makes them popular with a wide crowd, though not so much with me. Savoury hot food is served on a more limited timetable, although there are sausages rolls and a few other savoury items during all opening hours. Cheese scone is lovely.

Fabulous space and community spirit - Edit
Parking spaces run along in front of the row of independent businesses that C&R is a part of. Lovely large space inside, bright and airy. The breakfast menu and lunch menu are both served from opening to closing. Large selection of savoury and sweet foods, and drinks. I had the small breakfast which was colourful and filling. B had a cheese and onion toasted sandwich with side salad, and slaw. This looked amazing and B said was delicious. Very friendly greeting, and lots of info regarding where to visit for more vegan businesses in the area. Highly recommend.

Destination cafe! - Edit
Honestly, if you're going anywhere within 30 miles, make a detour to come here. So many sweet things on offer, great menu, dog-friendly. A real oasis just outside Ipswich.

The most amazing Biscoff rocky road you will ever eat! Took my mum for afternoon tea and even she loved the sausage rolls! Chai latte with coconut milk is a must ❤️

Amazing Food, Friendly Staff - Edit
This is a lovely, friendly café with amazing food that covers the range from a small light snack to a hearty meal (breakfast served all day and lunch). This was my first time here and the lady was very helpful in helping me discover their range. The pea and ‘bacon’ soup with seeded toast was hot and tasty and the Victoria sponge was wonderful! I like to support vegan businesses but in this case it will be a real pleasure to return. Do yourself a favour and visit soon. Highly recommended!

Delicious vegan cake outside Ipswich - Edit
Although I felt slightly out of place amidst the British gossiping ladies, Chestnut & Rose is a wonderful place to stop by for some coffee and - especially! - cake. There is a wide array of both sweet cakes and savoury pastries on offer, and not just the 'standard' treats you will usually find in a vegan café (brownies and carrot cake). Myself I had a delicious walnut cake. The portion size will leave you full and satisfied for some time. The staff team is quite large and I was quickly served. I'm surprised no reviews are on HappyCow yet, because this place is worth the detour for any cake or pastry loving vegans!
