Very good vegan options - Edit
We were too late to order for collection, so just just turned up for a walk in order. Service was very efficient and we didn’t have to wait very long.
Read moreWe tried the vegan fish and chips and king oyster mushroom calamari, both were very good. The batter was light and crisp and chips were tasty.
Would highly recommend sitting on the beach and watch the sun go down as you eat.
Pros: Choice, Quality, Service
Cons: order click and collect early for same day

Chesil Chippie - Edit
Visiting Portland it would’ve been a shame to have missed out on having fysh and chips on the beach! We were able to preorder for collection, I’d recommend this as it is a very busy shop with queues out the door at times. I took away the banana blossom fysh, chips, tartare sauce, mushy peas and a battered sausage. The batter was nice, the banana blossom though hadn’t been prepared or cooked very well and as such was hard in places. I’ve had it elsewhere before where it was tender and flaky. The tartare sauce was delicious, I love to see this on the menu as not many places offer a vegan alternative. Daisy 🐶 loved her battered sausage treat. Good size portions.

I’ve been vegan 5.5 years and have truly missed chips at the beach. To have banana blossom “fish” and chips at the seaside was brilliant!

Amazing! - Edit
Having read the other glowing reviews on here, I knew I wanted to try this place. I wasn’t disappointed! I went for the pea bomb fritter and chips with some tartare sauce and was really impressed with it all. It wasn’t too greasy and the portion size was almost too much!

Un-freaking-real! - Edit
The BEST chip shop, possibly in the world! So many vegan options, and all clearly marked on the menu. Battered mushrooms, battered vegan sausage, battered samphire (incredible!), banana blossom 'fish', king oyster mushroom 'calamari' and the most amazing pineapple fritters. Not a tinned pineapple ring - actual chunks of beautiful fresh pineapple battered and fried to perfection. Tartare sauce and curry sauce are vegan. Order online from the beach or as you're packing up your climbing gear, for hassle free collection. Flawless!!

Really nice - Edit
Had the vegan 'fish' and chips with the tempura samphire and vegan tartar sauce.. all was cooked beautifully..
Read moreI've never tried the banana blossom deep fried, so was excited to try it.. as it sounded lovely on their menu ( they marinate it for 24 hours with seaweed, portland salt, lemon and thyme).. they obviously put a lot of effort into catering for vegans..but the texture of the banana blossom wasn't really for me.
I've also never tried tempura samphire..was a fantastic touch.
My son had pineapple fritter, which you could see was fresh pineapple not from a tin..
So all in all very enjoyable 😀
Pros: Loads of vegan options , Generous portions, Quality ingredients
Cons: Little bit pricey.. £5.60 for the vegan fish

Get the samphire and the tartare! - Edit
Didn't try the "fish" as I've had banana blossom elsewhere and didn't care for it. The battered mushrooms were nice but the samphire was my favourite, really interesting and nothing like I've had before. Also you wouldn't know the tartare is vegan.

Nice - Edit
Tried the vegan fish and chips. Chips were lovely and fish was a bit weird for my taste but 5* for effort. Would go again to try their many other options. Well catered for vegans.

I must admit I wasn't super keen on the banana blossom fish. The chips were excellent and I'll definitely try some of the other vegan options.
