Good vegan selection including breakfast - Edit
Nice little omni cafe in centre or Birmingham. A lot of vegan cakes and some clearly labelled vegan options including a traditional breakfast with vegan sausage, tofu, mushrooms, beans, hash brown and lots of toast! Shame it isn't fully vege or vegan but a good option nonetheless.

Amazing vegan cake! - Edit
Had a lovely vegan chocolate cake which you'd never know was vegan. There were probably 4 or 5 vegan cakes. The rest of the menu looked good. The staff were extremely friendly and happy, and the place itself had a lovely atmosphere.

Excellent vegan friendly venue - Edit
Cherry Reds is a cool alternative bar that do fantastic vegan breakfast, main courses and amazing vegan cakes. The staff are really nice and accomodating. It is a great venue right in the city centre just across the road from Birmingham New Street.
From Jan 2016 they have been hosting Birmingham Vegans monthly vegan drinks night on the second thursday of the month. This is highly recommended and is excellent for vegan networking.
Pros: Cakes, Location, Atmosphere
Cons: A little expensive but it is city centre

Fabulous Cakes - Edit
1st time eating at a place near the Birmingham New Street Station. They have a great selection of Vegan cakes. There were 2 cakes and 2 cupcakes. Cakes were chocolate, coffee and walnut, cupcakes were strawberry and coconut. We had one of each. Only ate the coffee and walnut cake and had the rest as a take away. I loved that they use compostable package made from sugarcane.
Dessert menu is clearly labeled and is displayed above the cakes.
Food menu however needs an improvement. Vegan is not clearly labeled in the Menu. Though they do have a vegan option under most sections.
We were full on the cake and so couldn't try the meals menu. They have an allergy sheet to check which items are suitable. I feel they need to collate the info and update their menu.
They are a bar and so are open till 11pm. We don't drink but we're happy to find a place where food is served till 21:45.
There is more seating space on top.
Pros: Great Vegan cakes, Use compostable package , Open till late
Cons: Food menu not labeled as Vegan, Serves animal flesh and secretions

Better Red than... - Edit
Dead good, this place. I was introduced to the delights of Cherry Reds by friends who have been seduced into making it their 'local'. Personally, I like the fact that vegans and veggies are catered for together with meat eaters; not much point preaching to the converted. The Hearty Vegan all day breakfast is great, using tofu as a substitute for scrambled egg; lesser appetites are accommodated too. I like the friendliness of the place, the food (of course), the beer, the tattoos... Good location, too.
Pros: Choice of food, Friendly staff, Good beer

Try the apple crumble cake! - Edit
I visited Cherry Reds twice over a few days with different friends, and both were impressed. We found some comfy seats in the corner where we could chat, interrupted only by the coffee machine from time to time. The menu has lots of clearly marked vegan options, and one section allows you to choose salad, baked potato or sandwich versions of a number of fillings.
On my first visit I opted for apple crumble cake for elevenses - and then went back for seconds! The second time around, I had a falafel burger with added houmous. It came with some amazing chips - some of the best I've had in ages.
Ordering is at the bar. Staff are friendly (though sometimes you have to attract attention) and food comes fairly quickly. There's a big cabinet of sauces etc. and you help yourself to cutlery when ordering. Worth a visit if you're in the area - or worth a trip for the apple crumble cake alone!
Pros: Good choice of vegan food, Friendly staff
