Amazing place - Edit
A little local place with delicious pupusas. You can ask if they replace the cheese with bean paste. That’s how you veganize the pupusas. Very delicious. They come with salad.

Rico, barato y llenador - Edit
Pedi pupusas con porotos y con champiñón y debo decir que 1000/10. Súper rico y los acompañamientos que ponen en la mesa (sin costo adicional) lo hacen perfecto.

Quick and tasty - Edit
The vegan choice is bean filled, and you can add spinach or mushrooms. Fast, tasty food, served fresh. Your pupusas will come with salsa and pickled veg. I had two pupusas and a drink for 37. Friendly staff, the place gets busy!

yummy - Edit
nice to eat vegan pupusas here! i believe they’re dryer than the ones sold on the street though because usually they use more oil to bake them in but i like the ones here! i had two with beans and spinach for 30q

AMAZING PUPUSA!!! - Edit
While there is only one vegan option, it is absolutely NEXT LEVEL!!!! The homemade hot sauce & picante pickled veggies really take the meal up a notch. I like to try lots of different places when I travel and normally I prefer to eat at spots where there are more options, but I will certainly be back to enjoy more frijole rojo pupusas before leaving Panajachel. Don’t be discouraged by there only being one option for us veganos - it is a DELISH meal!

Pros: Homemade picante toppings, Great prices, Cool local vibe
Cons: Only one veg option

Limited but decent vegan option - Edit
If you are vegan you really have one option: red bean filling. However, it’s cheap and delicious and with the pickled cabbage and salsa it makes a decent meal with 2-3 pupusas. At the time of our visit it was 12Q each.

Cons: Only one vegan option

Great bar with Pupusas - Edit
I have been eating there forever. Inexpensive and half the pupusas are vegetarian. Two and a beer is a great dinner.

The best for filling, cheap meals - Edit
Pupusas are great for filling, inexpensive meals. There are other pupusarías in Panajachel, so why Chero's? Few pupusarías make vegan pupusas--they mix cheese in with the veggies and that's that.
Read moreChero's has no problem making pupusas without cheese. There are several fillings to choose from, including black beans, spinach, and mushrooms.
You get a lot of food for the price. Pupusas come with curtido, tomato sauce, and spicy pickled vegetables. A pupusa with three fillings costs Q11, or about $1.50 US. Two pupusas makes a filling meal.
The ambiance leaves something to be desired. The room is often hot (not much air flow), and it's on a busy corner with loud busses going by.
