Discover Veggies Delights @ Chellas Vegetarian - Edit
Discover Veggies Delights @ Chellas Vegetarian Corner. With Junior Menu too! Young Diners are well taken care ...
After reading about their Vegetarian Biryani in the article - Rice to the occasion with biryani in the Sunday Times, I decided to go there. Chellas tries to get a little creative with their Vegetarian Biryani Rice - they give their customers something new each day, so they have mock meat biryani or one with mushrooms and mixed vegetables and even a toasted breadcrumbs version.
Vegetarian Biryani Meal @ S$6
I ordered their Specialty - Vegetarian Biryani. It comes with papadum, Curry and Accompaniment - Beetroot, Raita and Milk Peda (Indian Sweet that costs S$2 per pcs @ their snack corner). The Biryani has dried fruits, nuts, and spices and is tasty and flavorful. I like it!
Paper Dosai @ S$3.80
Love to eat this with hand! So, just go and wash your hand and start tearing it bit by bit and dip with the side dishes ...
Dahi Puri @ S$5.50
This is their signature dish - a Fusion dish created by Chellas and can only be found in Chellas. But, what actually is it, I have no idea. To me, it is like a sweet snack that can turn soggy if it is left there too long. So you have to eat it fast or get them to serve it later when you are ready for it.
What I like :
The eatery's Red-and-Black decor - nice and cosy ambiance! Magazines and newspapers for causal reading in the Cafe while waiting for the food to arrived. The food is delectable and the selection is vast. This is also a kid friendly restaurant with a section - Junior Menu ...
With relaxing and soothing music that surround us contribute to a pleasurable dining experience. Enjoying a delectable Indian Vegetarian Cuisine in a cosy restaurant WITHOUT Service Charge and No GST!

Paying for the name - Edit
This is a good restaurant with a nice selection of food........however - there are many vegetarian restaurants around this area (little india) that sell better tasting food for a cheaper price.
Some of the food here was vegan but a lot of the time - when asked they said that they 'didn't know' or 'thought so'.
Pros: Good selection
Cons: Overpriced, Unsure of vegan items

Excellent restaurant with huge menu. - Edit
This is a great place. It's probably the nicest vege indian eatery I've been to in Little India. The menu is very large and has an excellent variety of dishes including more North Indian things than you find in other places. I find most of the other Little India restaurants are serving very similar, predominantly south indian, dishes and Chella has a much more varied cuisine. It's also a nicer environment as it's upstairs away from the road. Everything I tried was excellent and very cheap. We had about 4 dishes with a couple of soft drinks and paid less than $25. I loved the garlic and ginger gobi aloo (potato). Highly reccomend this place!
Pros: Great food/variety, Cheap, Comfortable
