Consistently and predictably amazing! - Edit
We have coming to Palm Desert for a week every other year since 2015. And each visit we eat at Chef Tanya’s at least five times. Every dish is worth writing home about. My favorites are the Hippie Veggie sandwich (yum!) and the Guadalajara Tempeh Burger (wow!). And Chef Tanya is a gem. She makes good things happen. Hey, and check out her Creamery, too!

Really good but kind of expensive - Edit
I have to say I love chef Tania‘s chupacabra, her pastrami, mommy and her Guadalajara burgers but for the price you would think she would give you some little side when you’re spending $18 to $20 for a sandwich you kind of expect some little extra I.e. macaroni salad, or some other little tidbit. The food is five star, but since she charges so much, I think the overall pricing detracts from the overall value.

Chef Tanya's Kitchen is legit - Edit
Tried the Spicy Crispy Chicken Sando special with a cup of mac-n-cheese. Both were incredibly delicious. The spicy part of this sando is no joke. Thoroughly impressed.

This place is such a cute café. There are tons of fun things to look at—stickers, shirts, and various vegan products—and I honestly could’ve spent an hour just browsing.
Read moreWe were on a road trip to Vegas and needed a quick breakfast stop, and this spot was perfect. The staff were really friendly and helpful, and the food came out quickly, which we appreciated.
We both ordered house-made chai lattes, which were delicious—perfectly spiced and not overly sweet. For food, we got the breakfast burrito with beans, avocado, and potatoes, and I added jalapeños for a little kick. We also had the breakfast bagel with tofu and added their house-made cheese, and both were filling and very satisfying before a long drive.
We also grabbed a few items to go for the road trip, including a Caesar salad and potato salad. Overall, this is a great vegan café and an easy recommendation. I’d definitely come back to try their lunch sandwiches and other menu items.

Read moreThe service was very fast and everyone was friendly and helpful. I felt like I had barely sat down when they were already bringing out my hot fresh food. The outdoor seating is nice and they have planters to encourage pollinators so I got to enjoy watching a humming bird feed while I enjoyed my own meal. The chupacabra was a beautiful blend of flavors and textures, I liked the cabbage and the thinly sliced seitan. The pozole had some really good flavor and the squeeze of lime gave it just the burst of freshness I wanted with it and tortilla strips had a good texture contrast with the crunch comparing to the softer corn and I believe chickpeas in the soup. The agua fresca was sweet and refreshing and they had free refills so I enjoyed two glasses of it and they gave me a third in a to go cup to take with me. I recommend to others and if I am in the area I plan to be back.

Excellent vegan restaurant - The Best - Edit
Get vegan lunch and Oat based ice cream for dessert. Try the Tempe Burger. She adds so many layers of fine food that one burger is a feast!! We had Cauliflower salad that was excellent as well. Then for dessert had the Rocky Road oat ice cream. Wow, that was great!!!

The best house made tempeh I have ever had. I don't think I can buy store bought again. This location is huge and beautiful. The staff so amazing. The food is so delicious it is indescribable. So many desserts to choose from. You can take home so many already cooked meals and so many vegan products and gifts. We are visiting from out of town and wish we had a Tanya's kitchen near us. We have eaten here 3 times within a week and plan to squeeze one more visit in before we go back home.

I visit the Palm Desert area about 4 times and I always come to Chef Tanya's Kitchen at least once during each visit. Every savory dish I've had has been so delicious - recently, I had the OhMyGatoTaco salad, and the Gordo Chili is fantastic when I want something warm and comforting.

I stopped at Chef Tanya’s during a road trip and may have found my new all-time favorite vegan restaurant! The Guadalajara burger was amazing and flavorful! With plenty of to-go options, I spent the next few days enjoying their mac and cheese, lasagna, and several desserts.

Don’t skip Chef Tanya’s if you’re remotely close to the area! (And if you’re not, definitely plan a trip anyway, so you will be close. 😂)

It is just too bad we don’t live close to Chef Tanya’s. It is my favorite place to have vegan sandwiches, soup, and salads. I have been following her since early 2000s when she owned the Native Foods.
